As an Airport Support Mechanic with Delta TechOps, you will schedule and maintain a pre-determined timetable of servicing and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of machinery and equipment throughout TechOps including mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automated robotic, electronic and/or PLC controlled equipment.
Among the other responsibilities listed, you will perform annual major service TPM's on equipment throughout TechOps that includes making repairs and adjustments to equipment, replacements of fluids, filters, belts, in accordance with approved manuals and procedures. This includes completing minor repairs, adjustments and performing preventive maintenance on equipment which may include motors and controls, pneumatic systems, stock retrievers, conveyor systems, production machines, industrial ovens, and machine shop equipment. The proficient use of diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications for post service checks is required.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
Responsible for writing the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) procedures on equipment throughout TechOps and assisting internal customers with TPM Programs and processes.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examines form and texture of defective and replacement parts.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of machines, devices and/or controllers using hand tools, levels, mechanical measuring including pressure gauges, force gauges, temperature gauges, and dimensional instruments. This includes returning tolerances to within manufacturer specifications.
Starts and observes machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions following service; adjusts machine mechanical and electrical controls as necessary.
Fabricates repair parts or servicing fixtures by using common machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Operates heavy equipment during relocation of shop tooling/machinery.forklift, scissor lift, boom crane, etc.
Provides maintenance information to others by answering questions and requests.
Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; cross-training, reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing requirements to complete the job.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Additionally, successful candidates:
Must be able to work safely, utilizing proper protective equipment at all times and apply the concept of LOTO (Lockout / Tagout).
Must be knowledgeable of electrical safety while performing lockout/tagout and electrical cabinet safety during backup battery replacement.
Must have a thorough knowledge of the normal operation of a wide variety of equipment including mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic, motors, etc. in order to perform post service operational checks.
Contributes to team effort by assisting and accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Must be able to work cohesively in a team environment and effectively communicate with all levels within the organization, and get along with customers, co-workers and supervision.
Practices safety-conscience behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be authorized to work in the US.
Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Must have valid driver's license.
Must pass a background check including a government required fingerprint-based criminal history records check.
Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and thereafter submit to DOT mandated random drug and alcohol testing.
Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
(If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
