Aircraft Safety Intern, Summer 2024

Powered by the Skyryse operating system, FlightOS, we automate flight controls and systems management to achieve unmatched safety and eliminate opportunities for human error. We want to make flying as ubiquitous as the road and as safe as the elevator.

Skyryse internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible This is a full-time (40 hours / week) internship based in our El Segundo office. As an Engineering Intern on our Certification and Safety Team, you will work on the development of certifiable flight automation technologies and cost-efficient processes for the new Urban Commercial Aviation industry.

The Summer Intern Program will run for 12 weeks starting in May / June depending on your academic calendar.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with defining the functional hazards and developing safety requirements.

• Perform system safety assessment including Faut Tree Assessment, Zonal safety, Particular Risks Analysis and coordinate the architecture and development of the systems/ subsystems for a certifiable autonomous flight control system

• Perform safety verification activities against all the safety requirements.

• Support documentation for design, analysis, and specifications

• Work with the multifunctional teams to implement the safety requirements.

• Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing your BS, MS in an engineering discipline (Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering)
• Graduating between December 2024 & June 2026
• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD Student studying Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering

• Prior internship experience in aviation a bonus
