THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC (Title 32), Position Description Number D1736P01and is part of the OK 138th Fighter Wing, National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to provide on and/or off equipment troubleshooting and repair capability of the weapons release and gun systems, and to verify and analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot, test, inspect, and to load and unload conventional munitions, install/remove weapons delivery equipment, launchers, and gun systems. Work involved in troubleshooting, installing, modifying, repairing and adjusting a variety of ordnance systems such as missile and special weapons launching equipment.
This position is located in an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Aircraft Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Weapons Element (Flight Line). This PD is applicable for the F-16 and F-35 aircraft only. The primary purpose of the position is to troubleshoot, repair, install, modify, test and adjust aircraft ordnance systems, equipment and components. On and/or off-equipment inspection, modification, overhaul, troubleshooting and repair capability of weapons release and gun systems; verifies and analyzes malfunctions, troubleshoots, tests, inspects and loads/unloads conventional munitions; installs/removes weapons delivery equipment, launchers and gun systems.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components. Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications and engineering drawings. Experience which demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have 18 months experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems.
Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment. Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment. Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.
