General Description

Support daily repair and manufacturing operations for incoming workload for C-5, C-17, C-130, F-15, J-STARS, RQ-4, Global Hawk and other workload as required.

Duties

  • Install, adjust, align, troubleshoot, and perform final functional and operational tests on a variety of major aircraft systems, their assemblies and components

  • Perform flight line maintenance of aircraft including functional testing, troubleshooting and repairing all airframe mechanical systems their assemblies and components such as flight control systems, airframe, landing gear, engines, etc.

  • Perform post assembly checkout, adjustment, and repair of overhauled and modified aircraft to prepare for and correct deficiencies found on functional check flights.

  • Identify malfunctions and determines corrective action required

  • Performs engine removal and installation, jacking, leveling, and other routine tasks

  • Read and understand data and settings from cockpit instrumentation and gauges

  • Initiate requisitions for needed parts and supplies

  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must have at least two years of recent verifiable experience

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of parts, components, subsystems, and assemblies such as ejection seats, nuclear shielding or similar self-contained systems

  • Experience using standard and specialized tools and test equipment including fixtures, templates, scales, test stands, and external power sources

  • Skill in reading and understanding data and settings for cockpit instruments and gauges

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must be able to pass a background check, which could include a criminal history and credit check for access to Government facilities.

  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

  • This position falls under Executive Order 14042, and may require fully vaccinated status.

  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.

  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.

  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.

  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.

  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.

Duties * Troubleshoot, modify calibrate and repair of complex aircraft electrical systems and equipment such as electrical power control and distribution systems, lighting systems, refueling and fuel quantity indicating systems, etc. * Perform final functional and operational testing of these systems. * Replace defective controls units, relay boards, servo units, or other components * Set up and operate computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment to test and analyze circuitry and interconnected cabling of systems * Interpret and apply a variety of technical information such as technical orders, repair manuals, schematics, etc concerning wire codes, wiring configuration and testing procedures. * Set-up and operate computer controlled automated test equipment (ATE) * Other duties as assigned Education/Experience Requirements * We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing. * High School Diploma or equivalent * Must have at least two years of recent verifiable experience * Knowledge of operating electrical principles * Knowledge of interface of electrical systems with hydraulic, electronic armament, instrument, and mechanical systems * Experience using hand and electrical test units, meters, oscilloscopes, etc. * Experience in reading schematics and wiring diagrams * Must be a US Citizen * Must be able to pass a background check, which could include a criminal history and credit check for access to Government facilities. * Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. * This position falls under Executive Order 14042, and may require fully vaccinated status except in limited circumstances where an exception is approved due to disability or sincerely held religious beliefs * We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.
