Position Summary
The Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for successfully performing all facets of maintenance and documentation on KC-135R aircraft for private, commercial, Air-to-Air Refueling Operations. The Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic is also responsible for daily aircraft inspections in accordance with the approved Metrea Strategic Mobility (MSM) processes.

Essential Functions Statement
Inspect mechanical components of the KC-135 to identify problems.
Maintain and repair all systems of the KC-135 to include:
Jet Engine
Electrics
Minor Fuel system work
Sheet Metal
Aero Repair - heavy maintenance
Major / Minor inspections
Perform daily aircraft inspections, launch/recover, refuel / defuel, debrief aircrew, troubleshoot and repair discrepancies, jack aircraft, tow, operate all required GSE (Ground Support Equipment).
Follow all safety directives, maintenance procedures, and FAA regulations Remain current on all required training and certifications
Maintain repair and maintenance records.
Flight-line driving
All other duties assigned

Supervisory Responsibility
This role has no supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment
This job operates in a maintenance facility. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as cold chisels, ground power units for aircraft, integrated maintenance information systems, lifts, metal cutters, power drills, rivet tools, screwdrivers, wearable computing devices, and protective headsets/ear plugs.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday. Hours and work shift may change in accordance with department and business needs.

Travel
Travel requirements are: 25%
Must be available to travel 30, 60, or 90 days at a time.
Required Education and Experience
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: 6+ years working with the KC 135 aircraft, towing, jacking, and hazardous material use, storage, and disposal.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (specifically Word and Excel) Certificates and Licenses: A&P -Required or must be able to obtain a license
Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance. Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience: 5+ years of aviation program/project management or working with government contractors. Certificates and Licenses: IA license, Engine run qualified.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Employee must be a US citizen.
Must have and maintain a Valid Passport.
