AECOM is now hiring qualified Aircraft Mechanic 1/ Corrosion Control in support of U.S. NAVY aircraft maintenance operations at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Jacksonville, FL. The rate of pay for this position will be $28.93 per hour.
Purpose and Scope:
The Aircraft Mechanic 1-Corrosion Control makes repairs to aircraft following orders of higher grade worker. This work will be inspected by supervisors or quality assurance representatives for general compliance with accepted practices; assists in inspection, cleaning, arresting and repairing corrosion on aircraft structure, landing gear, and flight surfaces. This mechanic may assist in the application of coatings and sealants, and the application of aircraft markings such as numbers and squadron logos; will obtain standard parts by referring to parts manuals and by making comparisons with samples.
Perform pre-flight and post-flight maintenance inspections in support of flight schedule.
Enter maintenance records description of the work performed.
Remove, install, and seal panels.
Services engines and other various aircraft components.
Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft, short of overhaul.
Required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
Required to carry tool boxes to and from aircraft.
Performs preoperational inspection and operate ground support equipment such as electrical power supply, tow tractors, and engine starting units.
The Aircraft Mechanic 1/ Corrosion Control could perform this work up to 7 days and 40 hours a week and overtime depending on operational tempo.
Shift work and detachment required.
Requires maintenance management experience, (1 to 3 years) in aircraft corrosion control program.
High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum of ( 3 years) actual and recent organizational level aircraft flight line or aircraft carrier flight deck servicing experience is recommended.
Must have completed Corrosion Control course C-600-3183 or equivalent military aviation maintenance training or maintenance technical school curriculum.
Prior experience with U.S. Navy servicing operations on P3C aircraft highly preferred.
Must have a valid state driver's license.
Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
