This position is to lead the development and authoring of the Organizational Maintenance Manual Set (OMMS) for complex military aeronautics systems. It requires experience with Aerospace Technical Publication Maintenance Manuals, commercial and military.

The successful candidate will be able to effectively work with multiple engineering, software, supportability, and logistics disciplines as well as manage collaboration with customer program management and end-user personnel.

The primary responsibility for this position is to develop, perform validation, revise and maintain organizational-level technical publications for on-equipment maintenance of aircraft and also lead subordinates in similar activities. Responsibilities will focus on leading and participating in activities focused on the development, update and revision of the operation and maintenance of complex aircraft electrical and avionics systems including automatic flight control, communications/navigation/identification, radar, surveillance, and electronic warfare systems. Working knowledge of complex aircraft systems is required.

The successful candidate must have a strong background in the use of technical publications and be highly proficient in the use of electronic authoring/editing software and knowledgeable of technical manual formats and requirements.

The candidate must also have experience in effectively interacting and communicating with customers, engineering, and other organizations to define aircraft maintenance requirements.

The successful candidate should possess an extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance documentation, including military specification requirements and logistic support concepts. They must also be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and source data documentation.

A level 4 employee Typically has 9 - 15 years of professional experience.

This position is in Marietta, GA Discover Marietta.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7 - 9 years of aircraft production, logistics or sustainment experience

  • Familiar with Engineering drawings/blueprints, Schematics, ATPs and other related material

  • Willingness to travel

Desired Skills:

  • Logistics, Maintenance Planning, and or a combination of Aviation Electrical/Avionics experience (A&P license and/or military experience) is preferred

  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems

  • Ability to work multiple projects of varied size and scope

  • Familiar with technical authoring languages and specifications such as XML, SGML, and S1000D specification

  • Familiar with common Engineering/Technical Authoring tools and computer applications such as Contenta, Catia, Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs), and Arbortext Editor

  • Ability to effectively work with multiple engineering, software, supportability, and logistics disciplines to develop highly accurate technical manuals

  • Experience in verification and validation of technical publications is highly desirable

  • Highly organized; process and detail oriented

  • Self-starter and able to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic work environment

  • Highly motivated

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong communications skills both written and oral

  • Able to think and operate independently
