Job Summary:

The Aircraft Interior Technician is responsible for inspecting, replacing, recovering, fabricating, upholstering and repairing ceiling, sidewall, cockpit, and door panels. They are responsible for replacing and repairing passenger and cockpit seats, galleys, and cabin and cockpit flooring. Aircraft interior design requires an eye for detail and the ability to create comfortable, aesthetically pleasing spaces. This role involves working with various materials, including upholstery, carpeting, and cabinetry, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Core Schedule:

  • Days: Monday thru Friday

  • Hours: 8:00 am

  • 5:00 pm
  • Some on call or evening/weekend hours may be required.

Compensation:

  • Starting hourly rate of $25.00 - $40.00 / hour depending on experience.

  • Overtime pay for all hours over 40 hours per week.

Day in the Life:

  • Conduct regular inspections of aircraft interior, including seats, panels, carpets, galleys, lavatories, and other fixtures.

  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with interior components.

  • Perform maintenance tasks such as repairing or replacing upholstery, carpeting, and cabin furnishings.

  • Repair and refurbish damaged or worn interior components.

  • Install new interior components, ensuring proper fit and finish.

  • Fabricate parts as necessary to complete repairs.

  • Ensure all work complies with aviation industry regulations and company standards.

  • Document all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent.

  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with FAA regulations and company policies.

  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets specifications or standards.

  • Report any safety hazards or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.

  • Work closely with other team members to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other technicians regarding job status and requirements.

What will make you successful:

  • Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic (A&P) Certificate recommended, but not required.

  • Requires a minimum of 2 years' experience in aircraft interior maintenance or related field.

  • Operates all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments.

  • Preferred experience in a customer service facility performing inspections and repair of aircraft.

  • Valid state driver's license.

  • Flexibility in scheduling required.

  • Must successfully pass background check and drug test.

  • Ability to read and respond to E-Mail communications.
