Position Responsibilities:

During this summer internship opportunity you will:

  • Work on projects that improve aircraft performance, increase operational efficiency of aircraft fleet operators, and improve the travel experience of passengers.

  • Use your creative and intellectual skills will be used to develop innovative, nonstandard advanced analytical approaches and algorithms for fleet optimization and advanced health management.

  • Develop data mining approaches reconciling parametric system and flight characteristic data that was collected in the fleet management process.

This is a full time, paid internship for Summer of 2019, located in St. Louis, Missouri. This program is looking for candidates enrolled in a PhD program.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Software programming experience in languages such as C/C++, Java, JavaScript.

  • Practical analytics experience using languages such as R, Python, Julia, or Java.

  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • The ability to work a minimum of 10 weeks (12 weeks preferred) in Summer 2019 in St. Louis, MO.

  • Technical bachelor's/master's degree, and pursuing a PhD with a dissertation focused on data analytics, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience developing methodologies and application rules/constraints for mathematical approaches such as classification methods, neural networks, fuzzy logic, Kalman filtering, Bayesian methods, particle filtering, data analytics, causal or physical models, etc.
