Summary

Responsibilities

Serves as a Staff Support Specialist (MSS-1) at an ATC-10 level en route facility. Responsible for tactical, strategic, and administrative support of multiple program areas such as training, quality control, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace and procedures, plans and programs, operational automation, military operations, special and security operations, safety management system, safety reporting and other areas of specialty identified collaboratively at the local level. The work requires a comprehensive knowledge of the ATC field and familiarization with the many integral components of the industry which comprise the National Airspace System. Specialists must have the ability to apply this knowledge to the analysis, evaluation and development of new methods, studies, approaches, and procedures. The Staff Support Specialist must be knowledgeable of agency wide programs, facility goals and objectives. Must be able to communicate clearly and tailor their message to the target audience. While not required, hardware/software experience is desirable. Some travel will be required.

  • US Citizenship is required.

  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)

  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is required. Candidates must meet the following:

1.Must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least 1 year (52 weeks);

OR 2. Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility; (NOTE: An employee who has been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility that is upgraded is considered to meet the qualification requirements of the upgraded position, since he/she has been performing the higher-graded work);

OR 3. Must have held a MSS position for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility (see NOTE above).

In addition to the qualifications listed above, the chart on MSS positions will be used to determine which career level applicants are qualified to make application.

Experience is preferred but we will train someone who has the right background for this position. POSITION SUMMARY: This position includes quality control oversight of our drop bury projects. Our contract tasks us with assisting in completing drop bury work for our client, which needs the quality to be held to the strictest of standards. This position has a variety of requirements and expectations. This position demands attention to detail and clear and concise reporting & communications in order for us to be successful. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: * Responsible for ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of drops performed by installers. * Responsible for ensuring drops are fed from appropriate location per client specifications. * Responsible for performing the inspection of drops post install to ensure compliance to client specifications. * Inspect 100% of completed drops for quality and accuracy against the drop bury typical * Check for proper restoration of area * Take photos and attach to the inspection report * Conduct and/or attend meetings as needed * Verify the system is complying with all safety requirements * Perform work in a safe manor, following all OSHA and company guidelines * Drive Company vehicles responsibly and safely * Keep assigned company vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized at all times * Report any vehicle performance or maintenance concerns to Supervisor/Manager immediately * Work hours as needed based on customer demand PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS: * High School diploma or equivalent * Experience in the telecommunications industry preferred * Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills * Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines required * Must have basic mechanical aptitude * Proficient in Microsoft Office suite * Ability to learn quickly and apply that knowledge * Adaptability and being able to work individually and in a team environment * Willing to travel * Must have a valid drivers license and ability to pass MVR screen * Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screen and drug test WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, cleaning solutions Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night Work performed near power lines and electricity Work and travel in inclement weather PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of the equipment Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices Ability to carry, climb, operate and work upon an extension ladder, (approximately 28 ft high and 75 pounds) Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of the equipment Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting Ability to operate appropriate computer or test equipment associated with position Ability to perform job from high places (i.e. poles and roofs in addition to an extension ladder) Ability to use hand tools in the manner for which they were intended including electric drills, hammers, wrenches and screwdrivers Ability to safely walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment including ladders and fully loaded tool belts Ability to work while standing 50 to 70% of the time Ability to work with small components and wire to make cable connections TAK Communications, Inc. strives to hire, recruit and promote associates without regard to race, color, gender, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation or veteran's status.
