TRC is seeking a motivated engineer with 8 to 12 years of experience related to air emission compliance and permitting. This project manager position will focus on air permitting and air emission regulatory compliance for industrial clients, including power generation entities.
As Project Manager you will conduct a portion of the technical work while also directing a team of professionals to deliver projects to our clients that may include NSR permitting, federal operating permits (Title V), state and federal permit compliance, and NSPS and MACT compliance for a wide variety of industries. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to prepare proposals, manage project financials, work with staff and clients to develop efficient solutions to meet regulatory requirement, perform engineering calculations and evaluations, and propose solutions to client needs accordingly. Ability to perform business development and sales is expected. Geographical focus will be on the Carolinas, Georgia, and the Southeastern US.
Must have 8-12 years of related air quality experience and a minimum of a Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering degree program
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Experience in air quality engineering and regulations in a consulting, industrial, or agency setting in the following areas: new source permitting (PSD and non-attainment), air emission control technology reviews, emissions inventory and Title V permitting, and regulatory compliance evaluations. This position requires an understanding of Federal and State air quality regulations and policies and emerging regulatory programs.
Excellent communication and writing skills are required, as are data management and interpretation skills and expertise in spreadsheets and word processing.
Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks concurrently
Additional Desired Attributes:
P.E. license is preferred but not required
Excellent working relationships with State and Federal agency personnel is a plus
Outstanding listening skills to capture pertinent information and strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate clients' needs.
Effective technical writing skills
Qualified as an environmental professional capable of performing "All appropriate inquiries" investigations
Experience working in an industrial manufacturing facility
Air dispersion modeling capabilities including AERMOD and CALPUFF
Chemicals, Metals, and/or Forest Products air permitting experience
