Customs & Border Patrol (CBP) Air and Marine Operations Center (AMOC), Domain Awareness Directorate (DA) Analytic Support: ANSER is seeking qualified personnel with the capability to support CBP AMOC DA technology development through engineering assessments, analysis, technical oversight and project management.
Support for CBP DA System Engineering: To successfully accomplish CBP AMOC DA objectives, ANSER program analysts will:

  • Serve as end-to-end Project Engineer or Team Leader for advanced surveillance system development

  • Provide insight and technical leadership for analyzing technical issues, planning, organizing, documenting, and directing all activities associated with assigned projects

  • Determine the test parameters, plan and execute system tests, evaluations and characterizations

  • Provide technical evaluation of technology and system proposals, and integrate technical portions and system plans in coordination with other engineering specialists

  • Assess the technical suitability of candidate systems where specifications do not exist or are inadequate

  • Collaborate with functional counterparts to include DHS Science & Technology (S&T), other federal agencies, industry partners and academia

  • Evaluate and interpret results from statistical analysis tools

  • Utilize the latest MATLAB and GIS software and other applications to perform day to day duties

  • Provide briefings and presentations to DA, AMOC, CBP and interagency organizations and leadership SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Successful candidates will possess a mix of the following:

  • Detailed knowledge of Domain Awareness technologies and mission impact

  • Experience with CBP Air & Marine Operations preferred

  • Strong interpersonal/social skills; proven staff officer/contractor support excellence.

  • Exceptional written, and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in staffing, communication, and coordination efforts

  • Experience with MATLAB and GIS software preferred EDUCATION & YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: * Minimum of a bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field, plus at least 7 years of task relevant experience

  • Current Secret security clearance, or expiration of clearance within the past 2 years Location: Washington, DC *This position is contingent upon contract award.

Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates with efficient ease. The Facility Operations team designs and ensures our highly reliable environment is supported. The ideal candidate shall be able to work both broadly leading critical projects cross-functionally, as well as work independently through deep dives and expert analyses. This position is full-time and located in the Washington D.C. area. RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead mechanical engineering activities and projects for the Facilities infrastructure operations team that includes working cross-functionally with design teams, construction, field operations, vendors and R&D. Troubleshoot and establish corrective actions for designs and implementation. Conduct regular analyses and audits of mechanical system utilization. Develop effective measurements and reports from BMS and other monitoring systems to increase performance and reliability. Evaluate systems to perform effective and efficient load management and capacity planning. Monitor, trend, and develop engineering metrics and statistical data for strategic planning. Review "as-built" mechanical documentation and verify accuracy. Investigate actual site conditions and update records. Develop and generate specifications, RFPs, ROMs and SOWs for projects. Evaluate facility processes and industry best practices to drive efficiencies and effectiveness. Travel to data center sites for engineering studies, mechanical systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning. Develop innovative and efficient improvement through lessons learned and Design Change Management. Develop comprehensive project plans and inform frequently on progress, risks, and schedule. Participate in vendor, supplier, and contractor management at each site. Evaluate data center commissioning scripts and participate in commissioning/startup activities (Integrated System Test) for new and retrofitted data centers. Travel approximately 25-30%. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * BS in mechanical engineering 8+ years experience in data center or mission critical design, construction, operations and maintenance Knowledge in airflow and water distribution systems, including reverse osmosis (RO) plants and pretreatment processes (water softening and filtration) Knowledge of HVAC systems, Chilled Water Systems, Condenser Water Systems, pumps, AHU units (DX, RTU, CRAC, etc.), CFD, Raised Floor Systems, HOT/COLD aisle containment, and Building Management Systems Cross-discipline knowledge of critical facility systems such as electrical power distribution, and life safety systems Experience driving projects Knowledge with AutoCAD and Visio software Communication, presentation, project management, and reporting experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) registration 5+ years of HVAC design experience Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards, including familiarity of ASHRAE TC9.9, ASHRAE 90.4, NFPA-75/76, FM Global Requirements, and SMACNA guidelines Familiar with navigating through Building Management System programs (Alerton and Siemens) Facebook Washington DC
