Job Title: Air Export Customer Service Agent

Classification: Non-Exempt, Temporary

Reports To: Manager

Work Location: South San Francisco, CA

Schedule: 9am - 6pm (M - F)

Overview:

A global leading Freight Forwarding/ Logistics company is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Customer Service Agent to join their Air Export team.

You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth movement of international cargo shipments, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to strict regulations.

Competitive hourly wage of $21/hour and more based on experience and qualifications. Temporary position with potential for extension.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but not are Limited to:

  • Process export shipments efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with U.S. export regulations and customer needs.

  • Enter shipment data into our system to generate documents, determine shipping costs, arrange customs clearance, and track shipments.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, airlines, and other parties involved in the shipping process.

  • Arrange pick-up and delivery of shipments, coordinating with carriers and ensuring proper documentation.

  • Create invoices and provide exceptional customer service regarding shipment status and any potential issues.

  • Assist with maintaining accurate customer information and reports for quality control purposes.

  • Coordinate with carriers and other departments to confirm status of shipments and to ensure that orders are filled correctly.

  • Perform duties requested by Management.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficient computer skills and a willingness to learn new software.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Proficient typing skills (30-40 wpm).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in air freight forwarding or logistics.

  • Dangerous Goods (DG) Certification.

  • Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) knowledge/training.

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
