EDUCATION DESIRED:

High School Diploma, HVAC certification, Water treatment, and/or other related certifications or training.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Installs, repairs, and maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in order to improve the climate and air quality of an office, laboratory, or similar environment in a commercial and industrial properties. Services can include work orders, preventative maintenance checks, troubleshooting, new installations, emergency repairs, as well as answering customer's questions and providing status on HVAC systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Work under HVAC A lead site technician(s) to Maintain, repair, calibrate, troubleshoot HVAC systems including pumps, motors, valves, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, exhaust fans, air compressors, ducting, cold/hot coils, pneumatic actuated TCV's. Test and recharge refrigeration systems. Operate and maintain process water treatment in HVAC related piping.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

Minimum of 2-5 years related experience. Operation and repair of centrifugal chillers up to 500 tons, reciprocating chillers, gas fired boilers, DX units, exhaust fans, cooling towers, water pumps, air compressors, pneumatic controls. Water treatment methods (PH control, testing and adjusting chemical balances).

KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:

Data/spreadsheet tracking of equipment & parts, familiarity of CMMS (computer maintenance management systems). Clean room and laboratory environment HVAC requirements. Industrial safety practices.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Job requires ascending/descending ladders & stairs, bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, carrying, and lifting up to 50 pounds and other essential motor skills. Working in confined spaces.

Desire to learn new skills. Ability to work in a team environment.

ESSENTIAL SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Valid Driver's license, Section 608 certification as required by (40 CFR part 82, subpart F), under the EPA Clean Air Act requirements This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S.

Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "U.S.

Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be available to work swing or second shift, weekends, and holidays when required.

In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists developing new materials and additive manufacturing processes for automotive and aerospace applications. You will support the entire development cycle, including feedstock synthesis, sample fabrication, materials analysis and mechanical testing.</p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p><ul><li><p>Prepare feedstock materials for additive manufacturing including resins, inks and powders</p></li><li><p>3D print test samples and prototypes by stereolithography, direct-ink write and other methods</p></li><li><p>Perform high temperature decomposition reactions and heat treatments</p></li><li><p>Characterize materials and microstructure (metallography, microscopy, etc.)</p></li><li><p>Test physical properties (rheology, tensile testing, flexure testing, etc.)</p></li><li><p>Work with outside vendors for special tests or analyses</p></li><li><p>Summarize key findings in written documents and slides</p></li></ul><p>EXPERIENCE DESIRED:</p><p>The candidate should have experience with planning, conducting and analyzing experiments. Hands-on experience with additive manufacturing equipment and techniques is a plus. <br><br> Familiarity with materials characterization techniques and mechanical testing is also a plus. In addition, the candidate should have creative problem solving skills and the ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently. Relevant industry experience is desired but not required.</p><p>KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:</p><p>Knowledge of the basic principles of materials science is required. Knowledge of standard protocols for multi-step additive manufacturing is desirable. <br><br> The applicant should have some experience in computer aided design (CAD). Prior programming background (python, Matlab), electronics prototyping knowledge (Arduino, National Instruments) or finite element analysis (COMSOL, Abaqus) is a plus. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) are required.</p><p>EDUCATION DESIRED:</p><p>Bachelor's or Master's degree in materials, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, aerospace engineering or related discipline</p><p>PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:</p><p>Must be able to perform work while wearing a powered or unpowered air purifying respirator. Must be able to work for extended periods while standing or sitting at a computer workstation. <br><br> Must be familiar with safe chemical handling practices and common laboratory safety procedures. Must be sufficiently mobile to work within a laboratory environment. Have visual and hearing acuity, manual dexterity and good verbal and written skills.
