Job Description



Mission:

To plan, schedule and perform a wide variety of procedures, processes or inspections and experiments to test process, determine the material and physical properties of ceramics, waxes, metals, alloys and/or parts. To work with technical/production Technician IV's and Engineers to devise new methods and/or procedures and outline major projects. To provide solutions to complex problems in major area and carry out projects independently.

Principal Accountabilities:
1.Provides solutions to complex problems in major technical/production field by applying a wide variety of techniques, processes and procedures. Works independently with consultative input and periodic review by Technician IV's or Lab management.
2.Plans, schedules and completes small to medium sized projects. Determines procedures, schedules and manpower requirements. Coordinates activities with other Technicians.
3.Gathers, records, analyzes and summarizes data in various formats, prepares technical reports of results, evaluates projects, goals and processes.
4.Provides technical assistance and leadership to Technician's I & II.
5.Contacts and coordinates activities with other Technicians, Engineers and Production personnel, may act as liaison with vendors and/or customers on specific issues.
6.May be required to work with hazardous waste.
7.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1.4-5 years prior relevant experience OR A.S. or A.A. degree and 2-3 years of specific relevant technical experience OR B.S. degree with 1-2 years of specific relevant experience OR equivalent training and experience.
2.Considerable knowledge of and familiarity with basic scientific principles and laboratory techniques and considerable theoretical knowledge of major field, awareness of relationship between major field and other disciplines.
3.Effective written and verbal communication skills.
4.Ability to apply a wide variety of technical procedures under general directions and to complete work independently.
5.Ability to plan, schedule, evaluate and coordinate designated projects.
6.May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management training.

VIEW JOBS 11/14/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-12T00:00 Job Description Mission: Inspects and collects data to evaluate potential hazards of the manufacturing work place to ensure X-ray safety policies are in place. Audits and monitors manufacturing work areas to examine work conditions and observe X-ray safety procedures. Responsibilities include: * Survey X-ray equipment at maximum output first month of each quarter and under working conditions the second and third months of each quarter * Survey new, relocated, modified, and/or repaired x-ray equipment prior to releasing to production * Conduct X-ray radiation safety audits randomly and official observation audits every 6 months * Review and maintain X-ray logs per PCP, QCM, EA Department, and State regulations * Distribute and collect dosimetry each exchange period * Issue and track dosimetry for employees and areas, including new orders, cancellations, transfers, lost and found, damaged, spare issue, name changes, and series changes * Assist with accidental badge exposure investigations * Provide annual safety refresher training, testing, and support for X-ray employees * Work closely with Maintenance during repairs and modifications to X-ray machines * Coordinate with departments to ensure X-ray survey and machine instruments are calibrated and repaired according to state and department requirements Qualifications: * Minimum 2000 hours of hands-on experience as a qualified radiographer in industrial radiographic operations.PCC Level 1 or 2 X-ray certification preferred * Strong radiation background and proven understanding of X-ray operations * Professional, organized and detail-oriented; demonstrated ability to organize time, manage diverse activities, and meet deadlines * Proficiency navigating the Internet and using Microsoft Office Suite products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint highly desirable; ability and enthusiasm for learning new software application quickly and efficiently * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to multi-task * Able to work independently and work cooperatively in a team setting * Maintains and protects confidentiality of sensitive information * Commitment to task and results oriented PCC Structurals is committed to diverse workforce, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, VEVRAA Federal Contractor, affirmative action employer we provide equal opportunity to all persons, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, disability, statues as a protected veteran, national origin, color or any other classification in accordance with federal, state and local statutes, regulations and ordinances "Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran Status/VEVRAA Federal Contractor."
