A valid State of Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

An Associate degree or 60 semester hours of course work documented on an official transcript from an accredited institution of higher education; or Meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through the passage of a formal state assessment listed below: Para Pro ACT Work keys, Master Teachers Para or Educator Learning Network

Assists teachers in performing their classroom interventions in the area of reading

Speak, read and write in English.

One year of experience working with children/youth.

Associate's (or higher) degree or Paraprofessional Academic Assessment Test

Related training or education

VIEW JOBS 10/30/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-28T00:00 Description Purpose Statement: The job of AIDE-SPECIAL EDUCATION Personal Assistant (PA) is done for the purpose/s of assisting assigned teaching personnel in the supervision and instruction of special education students; performing classroom clerical tasks; and assisting students by meeting special health care needs and developing students' daily living and behavioral skills. This position will typically be assigned an individual student. This job reports to PRINCIPAL Essential Functions Administers tests, homework assignments, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the instructional process. Assists other personnel (Teachers, Counselors, Substitute Teachers, Nurses) as may be required (e.g. files student paperwork, review information with parents during teacher/parent conferences, parent translation, book inventory, student database program) for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. Assists students with lesson assignments under the direction of the certified teacher for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts. Guides students in independent study (e.g. enrichment work, remedial work, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring student success. Implements, under the supervision of assigned teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of assisting the teacher in improving students' academic success through a defined course of study. Monitors individual students, classroom, library, playground activities, etc. for the purpose of ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. Provides support services for students under the direction of the certified teacher for the purpose of providing instructional support. Other Functions * Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, etc.) for the purpose of supporting the teacher and/or administrator in providing records/materials.
