AidData is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Program Manager, based in Williamsburg, VA. The position will lead a wide variety of projects, and offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting edge research with major policy stakeholders in the focus areas of emerging donors (e.g. China, Gulf Cooperation Council) and new models of funding development globally. Position will be responsible for leading and managing engagements with a multitude of stakeholders/partners, as well as providing support on preparing research proposals, design, implementation and monitoring, data management, report writing and dissemination and policy outreach.
Bachelor's degree in economics, social sciences, public policy, or related field * 1-2 years of experience delivering high quality outputs.
Excellent management and organizational skills along with strong quantitative skills
Fluency and excellent communication skills in English
Flexible, self-motivating, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, a team player
Demonstrated ability to manage high-level relationships with partner organizations
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding and complex work environment, to carry out assignments in a timely manner, and to adapt to changing situations and priorities ?Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of researchers, clients, partners, data users, and staff
Master's degree in economics, social sciences, public policy, or related field
Knowledge of Stata, R, ArcGIS, QGIS or other data analysis software is strongly preferred
Experience conducting research on Chinese official/development finance, blended finance, BRICS, South-South cooperation, familiarity with contemporary development issues, major actors, etc.
Willingness to travel abroad, at times on short notice
Previous experience leading international development research in a project and client management capacity preferred.
