Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design, implement, and evaluate novel algorithms and models to address complex problems in your area of expertise. Train and deploy large-scale AI models, optimizing for performance, scalability, and user experience across diverse domains. Collaborate with AI Lab engineers to integrate your models as scalable, real-time AI systems in the cloud. Enhance our model serving runtime for efficient serving of speech and natural language models in both streaming and batch applications. Consult with product and business teams to identify opportunities for leveraging AI to enhance existing products and create new ones. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members . Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department. Travel Requirements Travel Requirements: Less than 25% Education Minimum 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in a field related to science, engineering, software, or mathematics. Preferred : Graduate Degree PhD degree in a field related to science, engineering, software, or mathematics. Experience 4 years of experience working on ASR, NLP or closely related AI field. Publications in conferences such as Interspeech, ICASSP, ACL, NeurIPS, or ICML are a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced knowledge in either end-to-end automatic speech recognition (E2E ASR), large language models (LLMs), or natural language processing (NLP). Extensive hands-on experience finetuning either E2E ASR models or LLMs using deep learning frameworks like PyTorch. Experience using optimized inference engines like OnnxRuntime or TensorRT and model serving runtimes like Triton Inference Server is desired. Strong programming skills in Python. Proficiency in C++ and other languages is advantageous. Proven track record of solving complex problems with innovative solutions, demonstrating the ability to develop novel algorithms and adapt existing methods to new challenges. Familiarity with cloud computing services like AWS for training and deploying models is advantageous. Possess strong teamwork skills, a positive demeanor, and effective communication abilities. Passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest AI research. Strong understanding of software development processes for translating research into production systems. Other General Requirements/Additional Notes Must be able to work at a computer for a full workday. Must be able to use a keyboard and mouse, or equivalent. Must be able to view a computer monitor. This position will be a remote/in-office hybrid. A team player with a positive attitude and good interpersonal communication skills who can work across company departments.
