As a Barclays AI Governance Analyst Vice President, you will be accountable for assisting with various aspects of AI governance/operating model, including the development and implementation of AI policies and standards, the creation and maintenance of the AI inventory, overseeing the AI risk tiering. You will also have the opportunity to be establishing the production use guardrails, coordinating cross-functional AI risk assessments, supporting Generative AI proof-of-concepts, and contributing to governance meetings.

What will you be doing?

• Assisting in drafting and refinement of AI policy and helping with the socialization and adoption across the organization while complying with regulatory and ethical standards

• Contributing to the development and enhancement of the AI operating model program, including AI workflow process optimization and documentation

• Supporting the creation and maintenance of the AI system inventory and developing and conducting training programs to educate on AI governance and ethical AI use

• Working with stakeholders to enhance the tiering approach for AI systems, considering various dimensions like complexity and uncertainty

• Coordinating with cross-functional teams for comprehensive AI risk assessments and implementation of effective mitigation strategies

• Assisting in the preparation of materials for AI/ML forum and working group meetings, documenting discussions, and managing follow-up on action items

• Providing end-to-end support for Generative AI proof-of-concepts, from initial use case intake and review to final approval

• Monitoring AI systems to ensure they operate within established guardrails and controls, and collaborate with legal and compliance teams to stay aware of regulations

What we're looking for?

• Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree in a financial or technical field and negotiation and communication skills verbal and written

• Experience in oversight and governance of AI/ML models at an enterprise level and analytical and problem-solving skills, proven in a complex or dynamic setting

• Ability to develop, implement, and oversee the governance frameworks and policies and an innovative mindset, capable of proposing effective solutions to control issues

• Familiarity with the key regulatory frameworks and standards relevant to AI use in the financial industry, such as EU AI Act, NIST guidelines, and the ability to apply these

Skills that will help you in the role:

• A postgraduate degree in a financial or technical field

• Significant years of professional experience with a significant portion dedicated to AI or model risk management

• Track record in AI or governance experience, encompassing business, risk and technical acumen

• In-depth knowledge of AI/ML technology including the risks, benefits, ethical implications, and the development of a governance operating model
