Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction and guidance of the Lead Training Specialist and the Director of Human Resources and Learning and Development, and in collaboration with the American Heart Association (AHA)/Training Coordinator, the AHA Instructor implements instructional curriculum in accordance with AHA Guidelines and MMC educational plans.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor certifications are required.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor preferred or to obtain within 18 months of hire.

Knowledge:

• Minimum of three years of recent experience teaching AHA courses preferred.

• Experience in providing instructor led training strongly preferred.

Skills:

• Experience as a paramedic, EMT, or RN preferred.

• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, presentation, group facilitation, organizational skills required.

• The ability to prioritize work and remain flexible required.

• The ability to work with all employees, students and volunteers in an honest, direct and respectful manner.
