JOB SUMMARY:

Performs routine duties to assist professional staff engaged in agricultural research. Work day-to-day field operations for genetic experiments, breeding efforts, and seeding increases. Field work will involve preparation and implementation of field trials and plot studies.

JOB DUTIES:

100% - Essential

• Oversees the planting, cultivation and harvest of crops. Operates equipment used in agricultural research. Assists with field trials and data collection. Prepares agricultural materials for laboratory testing. Day-to-day field operations work including planting and assisting in developing populations used for a variety of genetic studies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma and experience in agricultural research or animal care that is directly related to the area of employment. An associate degree in animal health technology or a discipline related to agriculture may be substituted for the required work experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

50% - Stand for prolonged period

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Band: 03 $18.00 hourly rate

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
