ASPE, Inc. / Cprime is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer or IT engineering expert and software development leader who would like to teach and build subject matter course content for a global enterprise coaching and training firm. Our Fortune clients turn to us for guidance and training on every component of digital transformations. This is a high-profile role who will serve as the face of our company and a trusted technology advisor to senior leaders in large organizations. The right candidate for this job is not only a leader, but also has an extensive portfolio of current technical skills. Candidates must have deep experience transforming technology practices in large organizations, loves to teach others, and have excellent communication skills. You must also be able to relate to both executive stakeholders and leaders, but also to technology team members who do work in roles such as software development, testing, release, operations, and security.
As the DevOps Technical Instructor, you will develop, teach, maintain, and improve courses and consulting opportunities by collaborating with other subject matter experts (SMEs) and evaluating customer feedback. You will also consult with our clients and perform assessments to establish the best course of action for their technical readiness and training needs. You will work with every department of the company, from product operations to marketing and sales, to our technical practice leaders.
There is travel required as we visit customer headquarters all over the continental US, and sometimes the world. Travel will be 50% or more as needed.
You must be able to relate, coach and provide guidance on these types of initiatives, including:
Agile engineering practices
DevOps and new tool training
Guidance and interfacing with business leaders
Recommendations on business agility
Assistance with enterprise architecture and agile frameworks
Standing up new product teams and agile teams
Expert literacy across a broad range
Teach and instruct classes (private and public courses) from Cprime's technical courseware, both virtual and onsite at client or public locations (~40-50% of role)
Develop, maintain, and improve courses and consulting opportunities by collaborating with other subject matter experts (SMEs) and evaluating customer feedback. (40% of role)
Review course materials, evaluate content or white papers developed by other subject matter experts (SME's) (15% of role)
Provide technical guidance and solution definition during the sales cycle, supporting a Cprime account executive
Perform client assessments, identifying and distilling the business pains and objectives
Mentor, coach, train other technical instructors/trainers
A large portion of our training is on technology tools and practices associated with DevOps and software delivery. A few of the technical practices you must be able to teach are:
Tools relying on scripting languages: you must be comfortable working in at least a couple of programming languages and IDEs
Distributed version control (Git, BitBucket)
Configuration management (i.e. tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc.)
Change management and best practices for converged and hybrid cloud environments
PaaS production environments
A successful candidate must also understand the needs of real-world IT employees, and able to transfer useful skills to students during training. You will be asked to teach enterprise technology teams how to use tools such as:
Puppet, Chef, Ansible
Git, Github, Bitbucket
Others relating to CI/CD and agile engineering value streams
