Overview and Deliverables: Mid-Level Agile Systems Engineers provide support and execution of agile software development activities for IPOs and programs. Assist Release Train Engineers to ensure the IPO/program Backlog list is current, complete and accurately reflects the Mission Owners priorities. Assist in capturing new requirements, validating them through the Needs and Collection Management engineering board, and Mission Owners prioritization.

  • Ensure RPE and sprints are planned, developed and executed IAW SAFe framework.
  • Ensure the backlog list is current and prioritized IAW product Owner priorities.
  • Assist the Government Program Manager in overseeing the RPE and sprint to ensure the Solution and design architecture requirements are implemented.
  • Ensure the Developer captures the implementation in MBSE model and is provided to the Government to update the Government models, Digital Thread and Digital Twin.
  • Ensure the RPE and sprints build to test and incorporate agile principles of lean traceability of defined requirements through test plans and test procedures.

Senior-Level (12 to 18 years experience)

Overview and Deliverables: Senior Agile Systems Engineers facilitate program level software development processes, program execution, escalate impediments, manage risk and enables continuous improvement.

  • Establish Product Increments, Release Planning Events (RPEs), and Sprint Calendar for the Release Train.
  • Facilitate Product Increments Planning, Program-Level ceremonies, leads program execution, and coaches Agile Release Trains (ARTs) in continuous improvement of value delivery.
  • Aggregate Product Increments and Sprint objectives.
  • Facilitate Scrum of Scrums.
  • Facilitate full use of SAFe Principles.
  • Identify risks to the Product Line PM for mitigation and/or submission to the Needs and Collection Management Engineering Board.
  • Report ART Status to stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Drive the Release through creating transparency using metrics to drive positive change.
  • Identify and facilitate resolution of dependencies and/or elevates program level impediments to the IPC team.
  • Assist the Government in Feature Integration Test Coordination.

Requirements

Mid-Level (6 to 12 years experience)

Skill/Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree.
  • Mid-level experience in Agile Software development methodologies.

Desired Skills:

  • Mid-level experience in curating Backlog lists.
  • Certified SAFe Agilist.
  • Demonstrated experience with MBSE, processes, tools and languages.

Clearance: Candidates need to be TS/SCI-cleared with polygraph.

Senior-Level (12 to 18 years experience)

Skill/Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree.
  • Senior-level experience with at least 1 year real-world experience as a Release Train Engineering (RTE).
  • Experience in SAFe managing release trains.
  • SAFe Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

Desired Skills:

  • Masters degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree.
  • Demonstrated experience with MBSE, processes, tools and languages.

Clearance: Candidates need to be TS/SCI-cleared with polygraph.

Also, they are developing next-generation of space and ground systems architectures, hardware and software solutions.</p><p>Job Duties:</p><ul><li><p>Providing agile expertise and oversight of multiple software development activities; ensuring agile development and implementation map to government needs</p></li><li><p>Provides support to the Program Office in execution of mission critical systems.</p></li><li><p>Serves on a team of high-performing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) responsible for analyzing contractor data, developing and executing ECPs, and providing technical analysis.</p></li><li><p>Representing government at vendor led release and sprint planning events; ensuring government and stakeholder needs are prioritized</p></li><li><p>Provide recommendations against solutions to assist in prioritizing developer backlogs in alignment with capability deliveries to Operations</p></li><li><p>Provide recommendations for DevOps/Agile principles to define capability roadmaps, EPICs, Features and verifying and summarizing EPICs against a Plan</p></li><li><p>Providing analyses of program data to ensure that accurate status of cost, schedule, and performance of development contracts in support of monitoring and controlling the program</p></li><li><p>Providing analysis and recommendations to the Government on implementing Agile methodologies in support of program execution to facilitate capability delivery within cost and schedule</p></li><li><p>Providing recommendations to the Government concerning program execution</p></li><li><p>Representing the Program Office in the customer's program execution discussions related to current and future contracts</p></li><li><p>Proactively engage with Agile Development teams to assess execution performance, and based on those assessments, advise Government on implementation strategies</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><p>Required Education and Experience:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor degree in engineering, science, or related disciplines with 14+ years of related experience (years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree)</p></li><li><p>Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly</p></li><li><p>SAFe 4.0 or higher certification</p></li><li><p>Experience with Agile Development to include participation in scrums, development of solution epics, lean business cases, program epics, features, and user stories</p></li><li><p>Experience providing recommendations for DevOps/Agile process improvements and operational improvements for users of the systems</p></li><li><p>Expert Program Management and data analysis skills</p></li><li><p>Experience with Space and Ground Aerospace systems engineering</p></li><li><p>DevOps systems engineering experience</p></li><li><p>Exceptional communication and coordination skills</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated experience in communications and enabling skills that help others succeed</p></li><li><p>Ability to quickly understand and respond to Government queries</p></li></ul><p>Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
