As an Agile Technical Program Manager at SMARTShip, you facilitate leading complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your expertise in program management and scaled agile development methodologies (Scrums, Kanbans, RTE, STE and Swmilanes) . This includes metrics driven managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders across the organization. You’re technically competent enough explaining team’s analyses and recommendations to managers, directors and executives as you are discussing the technical and schedule trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your program management and leadership expertise, you run Engineering-focused multiple projects that are well-defined under supervision, spanning globally. This role reports to VP of Engineering. It is a distributed and colloborative organization located in Singapore, India and
United States.
Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist VP of Engineering to execute engineering swimlanes in parallel by organizing, facilitating and managing Engineering projects from concept to completion and maintaining with SLAs.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program and Solution Kanbans and other information radiators
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings
  • Facilitate the PI planning event
  • Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives (the RTE) and publish them for visibility and transparency
  • Metrics driven tracking of planning, execution and delivery of features and capabilities
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the Program Level
  • Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
  • Help manage risks and dependencies
  • Escalate and track impediments
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering
  • Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the DevSecOps and Release on Demand competency
  • Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle
  • Work with the cross-functional leaders on program execution and operational excellence
  • Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure adherence to Guardrails
  • Facilitate System Demos and Solution Demos
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and portfolio and help them improve
  • Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Certified SAFe Agile or RTE and Scrum Master
  • Experience in Scaled Agile Transformation
  • 5+ years’ experience working in scaled Agile environment Program Manager with a minimum of 5 globally distributed teams
  • 2+ years’ experience leading Agile teams as a RTE or Scrum of Scrum Master.
  • Experience with launching Agile Release Trains
  • Java/J2EE, Node.js, Web Services, Web APIs, and microservices
  • SQL and NoSQL based solutions
  • Cloud deployments, containers, and continuous integration
  • SOAP and RESTful services.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Practical problem solving and strategic thinking skills, critical thinker, and self-starter
  • Superior communications skills with all levels of employees and both internal and external customers-including presentations, and metrics driven written reports
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining view on the strategic direction and being as detailed as needed.
  • Willing and able to get down in the details “to make things happen”
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with demanding schedule constraints and technically challenging programs

The primary duties of the Capital Construction Project Manager include: Construction Management * Supervise, coordinate, and direct capital construction process on nationwide portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. * Adhering to the necessary steps for pre-construction planning such as contract preparation, analyzing proposals, contractors and subcontractor vetting, and project scheduling. * Develop and enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders and implement best practices. * Ensure successful completion of all projects by assessing challenges, plan and initiate solutions to overcome budget issues, any schedule conflicts, deadlines, design challenges, and other obstacles as they occur. * Responsible for the management of design process, budgeting, entitlements/permitting, bidding, contracting, and project management. * Accurately disseminate and interpret data to be shared across partnerships. Capital Improvements * Plan, schedule, and coordinate major repairs, and capital improvement projects including the hiring and supervision of consultants and contractors * Conduct and/or coordinate site inspections and use other methods to ensure that the physical aspects of the properties meet established contract requirements, risk management/safety requirements, general appearance, and implement corrective measures as necessary. * Confirm scope of work, collect and evaluate bids, and make vendor selection recommendations. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: * Self-motivated with the ability to execute in ambiguous situations, take the lead without explicit instructions, use resources effectively. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions * Highly organized, strong analytical skills, and ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment.
