Agile Project Lead - Northbrook, IL.

Lake Shore Associates (LSA) is looking for an Agile Project Lead to help drive our client's adoption of a product delivery mindset. The selected individual needs to be able to both build the client's capability in Agile, iterative product delivery, as well as steward a pilot project along the way. The resource should bring strong business acumen, operate in a collaborative way, work well in a cross-function team environment, and be results-oriented. The Project Leader will help our client transform their operations, integrate process optimization and elevate capabilities to drive change adoption.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and contribute to strategy, direction and goals of the client project.

  • Coach teams on Scrum and Agile methodologies.

  • Work with teams to help create an environment that fosters transparency, learning, innovation, quality and speed.

  • Design a pilot initiative, utilizing one of the client's product development initiatives that enables the business to utilize an agile approach.

  • Drive change from strategy formulation to benefit achievement.

  • Help assess the overall health of the Agile practices and culture to identify opportunities to improve and provide coaching Assist the team in implementing effective metrics around value driven delivery.

  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of the organization to empower and enable teams to execute.

  • Build, deliver and improve customized Agile training.

  • Train and coach new, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Managers in Agile values, principles, practices and the Scrum framework and principles.

  • Identify organizational impediments to successful Agile transformation and work with the leadership team to create effective strategies to overcome them.

  • Prepare workshops that help promote Agile maturity across the product organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years prior experience with agile product delivery.

  • Experience leading business model organizational transformations.

  • Deep understanding of Agile with hands on experience in Scrum as well as other Agile methodologies.

  • 3 or more years' experience in training, coaching and mentoring new Agile/Scrum teams.

  • At least 2 years experience in creating Agile training / workshop materials.

  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred

This team builds, enhances, and supports all the tools necessary for the Agency workforce to achieve that view of a trusted advisor. As a member of the team you will enhance and help deliver the best value to the Agents to make Allstate a major success. Key responsibilities of the role will include (but are not limited to): * Manage multiple project deliveries from initiation through to deploy. * Managing projects in Multi-Methodology environment e.g. SCRUM, XP, Waterfall * Responsible for third party vendor management. * Customize solutions for complex issues typically involving DCIO or enterprise level considerations. * Drive achievement of projects/program success factors. * Maintain adherence to compliance processes, PMO standards * Drive project execution. Provide direction and oversight throughout project lifecycle to project team to meet applicable business requirements. * Assess and report health of all projects in an objective manner, maintaining project transparency and accurate status; keeping manager, delivery area and portfolio manager informed. * Experienced with JIRA/Pivotal Tracker (or other agile tools) and MS Project * Experienced Scrum Master and/or Product Owner * Experienced Supporting multiple Scrum Teams simultaneously (as Scrum Master or Product Owner) * Working Knowledge of Scale Agile Concepts including RTE (Release Train Engineer) role. * Ability to effectively operate in a Multi-Methodology environment, transitioning between Lean-Agile and traditional Waterfall concepts. * Proactively identify, resolve, and escalate (as needed) projects/program risks/issues to manager, portfolio manager and delivery area as needed. * Proactively plan staffing and make dynamic adjustments to maximize resource efficiencies and achieve project results. * Identify, coordinate, and communicate project dependency impact. * Provide feedback on team member competencies. * Accountable for understanding business objectives and how the projects/program delivers them; driving adjustments in projects/program to more effectively achieve desired business results. * Ability to adapt and respond to changes both inside and outside the projects/program. * Ability to predict risk areas, design mitigation/contingency strategies and execute on these strategies to avoid issues. * Negotiates solutions for issues that may be complex or controversial. * Adapts communication approach for audiences at multiple internal and external levels.
