Job Description:
Senior Agile Scrum Master & Agile Coach

We are seeking an energetic, motivational and engaging leader who can pull a strong team together and help them become a high performing group. In this role as a Senior Agile Scrum Master & Agile Coach you will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating multiple distributed agile SCRUM teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivery on an aggressive client roadmap. This role will report to senior management and assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; and coaching, mentoring and developing team members.

Responsibilities

Work with multiple distributed scrum teams to drive delivery on aggressive 2018 client roadmap

Partner with product owners, agile team members, and management to enhance agile practices, release planning, agile ceremonies, test driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices

Encourage the SCRUM teams to continuously reflect and improve, becoming more effective in their roles, and increasing their predictability, collaboration, and quality practices

Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, grooming, demos, retrospectives and other SCRUM ceremonies as required

Closely monitor burn down and address any deviation early in the sprint

Partner with product owner and Business Analysts to ensure user stories are broken down into manageable work units, small enough to remove any requirement ambiguity

Strong leader with the ability to manage maturing SCRUM teams and client expectations

Foster team collaboration and timely communication to ensure impediments are identified and addressed quickly

Ability to succinctly describe problems and potential solutions

Able to observe team dynamics, recognize strengths and weaknesses of individual team member's contributions, and coach them to improve

Manages time extremely well, can quickly sense when an issue needs to be discussed or triaged and takes the initiative to quickly resolve

Ability to manage delivery in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm demeanor

Ability to have difficult or unpopular conversations while tailoring the communications with the appropriate level of detail depending on the situation and audience

Proactive communication to leadership on any and all areas of concern

Required Skills

BA or BS or equivalent experience is required; MA or MS is a plus

Must have 7 or more years experience leveraging Agile to deliver software in a large-scale organization

Must have 2 or more years in an agile coaching role

Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building

Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands

Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence

Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met

Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:

Agile Project Management tools such Team Foundation Server or equivalent (ie. JIRA)

Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level

Certified Scrum Master (CSM), agile project management certification (PMI-ACP) or IPC-ACC Agile Certified Coach designation preferred

Experience with applying test automation, test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment to achieve built-in quality by the teams
