OVERVIEW

We are seeking an Agency Account Manager to join our inside sales team! In this role, you will work to achieve profit and premium growth for assigned agencies, typically managing agency relationships with 1,000-1,500 agencies via phone as well as in-person agency visits. You will also be responsible for implementing plans and programs to contribute to the achievement of agency produced sales and premium and loss ratio objectives. Collaborates with field team and manager in making and executing agency termination decisions. Through all interactions with agencies, you play a key role to ensures the value of Dairyland is highlighted and reinforced. WHAT YOU'LL DO

As the Agency Account Manager you will:

  • Oversee agency sales for a select group of agencies within a defined territory.

  • Support key activities and delivers desired messages as part of interactions with agencies.

  • Provide comprehensive sales expertise to agents to increase production. Time will be allocated between phone and field sales as determined by new business opportunity and needs.

  • Enhance existing agent premium sources to achieve sales and premium objectives.

  • Develop and implement territory and agency specific plans and programs to contribute to the achievement of agency produced sales and premium objectives.

  • Develop rapport with agents to develop acceptable and profitable business.

WHAT IT TAKES

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years of related work experience

  • Basic knowledge of insurance and insurance industry.

  • Insurance background in underwriting, sales (preferably agency sales experience) and/or marketing.

  • Sales experience and knowledge of professional sales techniques.

  • Effective human relations and communication skills to communicate with prospective agents and current agents.

  • Research and analytical ability.

  • Ability to meet travel requirements of the job (between 25% - 50%).

  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and valid driver's license.

  • If driving a company vehicle, the incumbent complies with safety procedures outlined in the Leased Car Safety Program.

  • Presentation skills.

  • PC experience with knowledge of various operating systems to facilitate electronic interface with agents.
