Based in Buena Park, CA, Studio 60 functions as an in-house creative agency for Yamaha musical instrument and audio/visual products. Yamaha's looking for an Agency Operations Director to streamline our efforts through our transformational growth. Reporting to the Director of Studio 60, the Agency Operations Director will help to create, collaborate, and impact the processes and systems that drive integrated, multi-channel campaigns and programs for Yamaha Corporation of America. The Agency Operations Director will be equal parts creative services and operations communicating and responding quickly to business needs and is able to disseminate and share information accordingly. The ideal candidate will exhibit energy, passion, and a desire to deliver innovative successful solutions for internal marketing partners and agency personnel alike.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day Studio 60 workflow and internal operations, ensuring smooth and consistent progress across all touchpoints

  • Lead the production and project management teams, providing positive and constructive feedback, while focusing on refining overall development

  • Partner with Creative Director and Director of Digital Development and assist with bringing in additional resources as work ebbs and flows

  • Collaborate with the Director of Learning to develop curriculum for Marketing Best Practices

  • Champion and lead weekly resource meetings and workflow prioritization discussions

  • Drive innovation and efficiencies that positively impact operational systems

  • Communicate and consult with PMs and internal stakeholders on project schedules, both current and forecasted, ensuring teams understand scope, cost, timing, etc.

  • Possesses the strategic ability to see beyond explicit assignment and identify broader, longer term opportunities or ways to improve and build project briefings and programs.

  • Develop, implement and continually improve the Studio 60 operations processes to achieve maximum efficiency

  • Proactively identify potential project obstacles and implement solutions to ensure the project is successful

  • Continue to develop departmental working methodologies and smarter ways to work, refining approvals, team collaborations and review processes

  • Assist in developing knowledge of and relationships with new resources, talent and technology

  • Foster a collaborative work environment within the team and across departments

  • Meet regularly with internal Studio 60 department leads and Integrated Marketing Group leads to maintain open channels of communication

  • Perform other duties and participate in projects as required.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table


  • Undergraduate or graduate degree or related

  • 12+ years' experience in process/project management within an advertising agency environment

  • 7+ years of direct people management

  • Prior advertising agency or comparable marketing experience

  • Experience in scaling a growing organization

  • Solid critical thinking and evaluation skills

  • Empathetic and open-minded with a high level of emotional intelligence

  • An inspiring leader that's passionate about the impact of people, yet business-minded, solutions focused and results oriented

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • General understanding of budget management, with knowledge for how to manage temp resources and independent contractors within budget

  • Can build trust and successfully collaborate cross-functionally with department heads, getting stakeholder buy-in and adding value through quality advice, counsel and insights

  • Familiar with internal workflow tools such as Basecamp, Workamajig, JIRA and/or Workfront and Microsoft Office Suite

The Role The Director, Talent Development is a key hands-on leadership role that will be responsible for implementing, communicating and executing the Orora Global Talent Strategy that supports and drives a high performance culture. As the champion of the talent development life-cycle in OPS, this role will partner with HR leadership and executives to lead all OPS talent development-related activities including performance management, talent management/succession planning, diversity and inclusion and learning & development. Working in collaboration with HR business partners and executive leaders, the Director will assess and diagnose OPS organizational needs relative to business performance gaps, design and implement development and change management strategies to address and resolve gaps, and maximize opportunities to develop employees across the organization. The incumbent will also implement the Orora Global talent management strategy, as the subject matter expert in relation to design, development and implementation of a learning curriculum, with a major focus on eLearning to realize the potential in OGU as an eLearning platform. This role reports to the Vice President of Human Resources, OPS and will lead the Learning & Development Team, and the talent planning processes. This role will also have a close working relationship with the Orora Limited Global Talent Management team. Travel expectancy: 15-20 % or as needed What You'll be Responsible For in this Role As the Director of Talent Development for Orora Packaging Solutions you will be tasked with or responsible for the following: Implement Orora global talent development processes to identify and retain top talent, facilitate movement and development of talent and build overall bench strength in OPS. Provide consultation to division and Human Resources leaders in the assessment of organizational issues, change management challenges, and the identification, development and coaching of high potential talent in alignment with the Orora Global Talent and Development Strategy. Advise OPS on strategic initiatives that support the global talent development and organization development strategies. Serve as the subject matter expert in relation to design, development and implementation of a learning curriculum, with a major focus on eLearning to realize the potential in OGU as an eLearning platform. Implement diversity and inclusion initiatives that support the Orora global diversity and inclusion strategy. Act as a strong partner to Human Resource business partners and business leaders by providing consulting services in the assessment and design of OPS organization structure; organization development; team intervention; meeting facilitation; and change management. Implement the Orora Talent and succession strategy, including talent review and ensure performance management tools are meaningful and optimized for both participants and management. Deliver team building, interventions, curriculum, and coaching to both individuals and teams across the organization. Utilize best-in-class learning principles for assessment, design, development, communication, delivery, metrics, and reporting, aligning with the Global Talent strategy. Partner with Global Talent team to introduce and utilize on-going tools such as 360 assessments assuring integration with existing strategies and programs. What We're Looking For Minimum Qualifications: * 6-8 years Human Resources experience with expertise in Talent Management, Performance Management, and preferably in a world class talent organization. * Overall 10 years in Human Resources roles including HR Business Partner responsibilities preferred. * Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Leadership Development, Industrial or Organization Psychology or related field required. Masters or MBA preferred.
