Evans Distribution Systems, Detroit's leading third-party logistics provider, is looking for second-shift Forklift Drivers. This role is a great first step to building an exciting career in warehousing operations and supply chain. This is a COVID-safe workplace with ongoing cleaning, health screens and social distancing. Job Description

Forklift Drivers are essential to our fast-paced warehousing operations. He/she is critical to ensure product moves throughout the warehouse efficiently to be stacked or assembled. Gain valuable experience in forklift operations, inventory management, productivity and safety standards. This includes:

• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product as needed.

• Efficiently stack and store merchandise in the appropriate area.

• Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation.

• Prepare necessary paperwork and submit to Operations Manager.

• Frequent & repetitive lifting using both hands/arms for items weighing approximately 50 lbs.

• Lifting frequency may be in excess of 100 repetitions per shift.

• Frequent bending and twisting at waist/knees/neck while off-loading and loading trucks.

• Help maintain cleanliness of warehouse and building grounds.

• Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.

• Assist in warehousing operations as needed, and all other miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor.

• Maintain the facility's equipment and materials with integrity in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.

• Responsible for awareness and compliance with warehouse work rules, COVID-19 and housekeeping policies.

• Lift using proper safety methods provided by the company.

Candidate Requirements

• High school degree/GED.

• 3 years' experience in forklift operations is a must.

• Beverage plant or warehouse preferred but not required.

• Clamp experience is preferred.

• Handle customer products with integrity.

Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing; includes background check and drug test

Details & Location

• Position located in Southwest Detroit

• 230pm start to 11pm- Monday thru Friday flexible to work overtime and Saturdays when needed.

• Starting wage: $17.00/hour
