We are seeking an Aftermarket Quality Inspector to perform quality control inspections off precision parts to part drawings. You will enjoy:

You will be responsible for all precision part inspections, calibrations and NDT of components of a variety of expansion, compression, and fluid handling equipment used in air separation, hydrocarbon, and petrochemical applications.

You must uphold the company's safety philosophy and processes for all facility activities. This position will support the Rotoflow expander business along with a variety of other rotating equipment in support of our Air Products business. You will report to the Operations Manager.


  • Perform all new part quality control inspections of precision parts to part drawings

  • Perform and document precision inspection of used parts against parts drawings to determine usability.

  • Perform inspection verification of in-house operations, balance, machining and assembly of precision rotating equipment.

  • Manage all necessary records and documentation of material certifications.

  • Annual and semi-annual calibrations of all inhouse inspection measuring instruments

  • Perform all inhouse NDT testing

  • Perform inspection of parts and components using coordinate measuring instruments

  • Confirm inspection results in our ERP system (SAP).

  • Create Non-Conformances in our ERP system (SAP).

  • Ensure a safe work environment by ensuring all Air Products safe work procedures are followed and implementing the Air Product's Basic Safety Process.

  • Understand industrial safe work processes and standards in a manufacturing environment working with ASU, hydrocarbon and petrochemical industry equipment.

  • Close tolerance machine assembly using precision measuring tools and equipment.

  • Demonstrate both professional and technical knowledge of turbomachinery and reciprocating equipment.

  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills; maintain free and open communication.

  • Ensure quality documentation is completed throughout all equipment refurbishing.


  • High school diploma/GED

  • Have extensive knowledge of precision part inspections using manual and computerized methods

  • Extensive knowledge of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning

  • Extensive knowledge of the use of coordinate measuring machines

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Good verbal and written communications skills

  • Extensive SAP experience required (NCR, confirmations, a plus)

  • Knowledge of industry work practices required,

  • Proficient with PC programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.,

  • The ability to work collaboratively across the business to perform responsibilities.

  • A strong safety focus, with a full understanding of the applicability of Government EHS regulations and the Company's Global EHS policies and procedures.

PURPOSE/FUNCTION (JOB SUMMARY) The purpose of this job is to provide Quality Assurance inspection support during all aspects of hardware fabrication, inspection and testing, ensuring compliance with established standards; from receipt of parts and material through delivery of finished products. Inspections will include mechanical parts, flight softgoods assemblies and products, as well as fabrication and testing of electrical and electronic assemblies. This position records non-conformances and verifies the results of corrective actions. Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and must be willing and able to comply with all safety violations and potential safety violations to the appropriate supervisory or management personnel. Incumbent will perform other assignments and duties as required. II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform detailed inspection of space flight hardware and ground support hardware and software. * Supports qualification testing of space flight hardware and ground support hardware and software. * Supports pre-delivery, and pre-installation acceptance testing of space flight hardware and ground support hardware and software. * Performs source inspections at outside suppliers. * Provide quality assurance support at remote locations (vendors, suppliers, testing facilities) in support of product requirements verification and compliance. * Recommend and implement quality process improvements. * Perform monthly laboratory inspections for all flight fabrication areas. * Work with internal customers to resolve problems documented in the QA Discrepancy Reporting System. * Assist Quality Engineers and flight receiving inspection as required. * Work with NASA/DCMA contract surveillance representatives to co-ordinate verification of Government Mandatory Inspection Points (GMIP). * Verify conditions in the flight fabrication areas comply with all applicable requirements. * Support internal drawing reviews for space flight and ground support hardware. * Provide support at Test Readiness Reviews for space flight and ground support hardware as necessary. * Provide support at formal design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, & SAR) for space flight and ground support hardware as necessary. * Provide informal quality assurance support to the flight hardware department in for the development of prototype, protoflight, engineering, and development units as requested. * Responsible for compliance with KBR Safety, Health and Environmental Plan and all safety policies and procedures of the Company, including reporting of safety violations or potential violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel. * Responsible for compliance with KBR Quality Plan. * Know and adhere to Company policies, procedures and work rules and demonstrate a strong work ethic. * Maintain regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the Company. * Responsible for completing all assigned training III. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE * REQUIRED: * A minimum of 7 years' experience in a science or engineering discipline or equivalent work experience in a NASA/Government related discipline. * Previous experience in NASA/Government inspection related work. * Extensive knowledge of NASA/JSC policies, practices, procedures, and workmanship standards. * DESIRED: * SKILLS/TRAINING * REQUIRED: * Dimensional inspection of fabricated hardware utilizing manual mechanical inspection techniques. * Current training in the NASA Workmanship Standards. * Strong organizational skills and accuracy in data entry are essential to the efficient processing of flight hardware. * Must be familiar with MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel (MS Office). * Must have good written and verbal communication skills. * Must have the ability to interface with fellow department members and other employees. * Must have excellent problem solving skills. * The flexibility and willingness to learn new skills, tools, and technologies is essential. * DESIRED: Current training in the NASA Workmanship Standards.
