After School Tutor - Students

Reports To: Administrator/Program Coordinator

Position Purpose: Provide academic enrichment to improve student learning.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age

• Must be reliable and punctual and able to commit to 2-10 hours per week

• Preference given to students attending Topeka Public Schools

Physical/Emotional Requirements: The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Provide individual small group instruction under the direction of a certified teacher

• Supervise enrichment activities under the direction of a certified teacher

• Review instructional materials and processes

• Provide data as requested

• Supervise, with certified/administrative staff, on field trips, during snacks and during transitions.
