Position Description

Position Title: After-School Assistant Coordinator

Reports To: After-School Coordinator

Supervises: After-School Teachers and After-School Teacher Assistants

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Required: Knowledge of Community Schools and Recreation Policies.

Knowledge of supervisory techniques and practices.

Knowledge of community agencies and resources.

Knowledge of a variety of recreational activities and techniques for teaching and programming.

Ability to communicate with individuals on various levels.

Ability to supervise groups of children.

Collect money and maintain payment records.

Age Requirements: 21 Years of Age

Education, Training, Required: Minimum requirements at least 3 years experience in a child care setting in an administrative capacity, program planning and implementation.

Terms of Employment: 30 hours/week, 10 Months

Responsibilities: Supervise, plan ,evaluate and implement all activities for four to five After-School Programs location.

Serve as an advocate and representative of the programs with participants, parents, principal, and other agency

representatives.

Develop good rapport with participants in the programs.

Maintain inventory of supplies, snacks and other materials used in the programs.

Arrange for field trips to be scheduled on teacher workdays.

Maintain and Complete required weekly reports, records, and updates in an orderly manner and report to the Afterschool Coordinator

Able to lift, carry,pull, push, or otherwise move objects between 10/20 pounds with and without assistance

Maintain all Afterschools records in an orderly manner

Assign and monitor duties of the After-School Teachers and/or Assistants.

Carry out other specific duties related to Pitt County Community Schools as assigned by the supervisor.
