The Wethersfield Public Schools partner with the community and families in fostering our students' ongoing education in a safe and engaging learning environment. Wethersfield High School is seeking a motivated and dedicated professional to serve as an After School Lifeguard. This individual is responsible for watching an assigned swimming area to prevent personal injury and to enforce the pool rules. The employee must be able to diagnose potentially dangerous situations and take immediate corrective actions.

Position: After School Lifeguard

School: Wethersfield High School

Start Date: 2019-2020 school year

Compensation: $17.22 per hour (3-12 hours per week)

After School Lifeguard responsibilities include the following:

  • Maintain constant surveillance of pool and pool users to ensure health and safety of all;

  • Educate pool users on proper pool use and etiquette;

  • Enforce pool rules and identify/eliminate hazardous conditions;

  • As needed, supervise pool users to ensure proper behavior;

  • As needed, provide emergency care.

Qualifications:

  • Hold proper First Aid certification;

  • Hold proper CPR certification;

  • Hold proper American Red Cross lifeguard certification;

  • Completed blood borne pathogen training;

  • Demonstrated prior lifeguard, swim lesson instructor, or swim coach experience

Wethersfield Public Schools ESY Summer Program is seeking certified staff to provide academic instruction and/or related services to students identified through the PPT process. Position: Special Education Teachers, General Education Teachers, School Psychologist or Social Worker, Speech and Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Program Nurse School: District Start Date: Summer 2019 Compensation: $38.35 Application Date: March 8, 2019 Positions are available in our Pre-K, Elementary and Secondary Programs. The following positions are needed: * Special Education Teachers and General Education Teachers (Teachers will be selected for ESY Program based on staffing needs) * School Psychologist or Social Worker * Speech and Language Pathologist * Occupational Therapist * Physical Therapist * Program Nurse Staffing Needs – Staffing numbers will be determined based on ESY enrollments. Teaching Certification is required. Special Education certification is preferred. Others will be considered. Nursing Certification is required for Program Nurse Position.
