Job Description Qualifications: Associates Degree or equivalent college experience prior to first day of work at Success Academy Ability to work in person and commute daily to designated school location in New York City Safely supervise a classroom of 30 students Drive for Excellence:

Responsibilities: This is a part-time position hours are; 3 pm - 6 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 12 PM - 6 PM Wednesday Approximately 25 week commitment Lead an after school classroom serving a diverse age of students in Kindergarten through fourth grade Manage after-school schedule and responsibilities, including monitoring homework completion. Manage students in a structured learning environment in a high-expectations culture that ensures on-task and engaged student learning. Monitor and support social emotional development and problem solving time as children interact with cooperative and independent learning games.

As one of the top schools in the city and state, we take great pride in offering high quality programming to all scholars. As an After-school Associate, you will be responsible for continuing this expectation after school by creating a safe, consistent and engaging environment for participating scholars.

Under direction of the Site Coordinator and with guidance by the school leadership team, you will implement our after school program model which includes homework support, and activities time (independent and cooperative learning games, puzzles and activities). This role will require you to work effectively with students and families through creating a safe, healthy and positive learning environment. Eligible candidates should feel motivated to learn SA’s behavior management strategies and implementation expectations and display strong interpersonal skills so that they are confident leaders in the classroom. The program will serve students in grade Kindergarten through fourth grade, requiring qualified individuals to work well with students of different ages, backgrounds and abilities.

We expect the After-School Associate to maintain effective working relationships with program and school personnel and follow all program policies and procedures. Candidates should feel confident in their ability to interact and support scholar understanding of academic content, including elementary mathematics and reading comprehension. A background in education or major in Education is not required.
