Apogee is actively seeking a Senior Operations Research Analyst supporting the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Program Executive Office for Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (AF PEO NC3) at Hanscom AFB, MA.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assess effectiveness of the AF NC3 Weapon System (AN/USQ-225) in meeting NC3 mission requirements across all phases of conflict

  • Develop, manage, and execute processes for assessing the weapon system's ability to execute assigned missions

  • Identify relevant system requirements and performance criteria and conduct multiple recursive technical assessments that characterize weapon system performance and enable root cause analysis of performance deficiencies at the constituent system level

  • Implement Operations Research (OR) techniques for consistent, predictive analysis of data to identify weapon system risks, issues, and opportunities

  • Formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters

  • Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary

  • Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives

  • Present the results of mathematical modeling and data analysis to management or other end users

  • Collaborate with others in the organization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions

  • Utilize and/or tailor identified risks for implementation into the Weapon System Worthiness Assessment (WWA) process

  • Aggregate and document the results of RIO analysis for presentation to AFNWC/NC leadership for situational awareness and to support decision-making

What you'll need:

  • Security Clearance Required: Top Secret

  • One of the following education/experience combinations:

  • Master's degree in Operation Research or related field and 10+ years' systems engineer experience (12+ years' preferred), OR

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research or related field and 12+ years' systems engineer experience, OR

  • 18+ years' Operations Research experience in lieu of degree

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite and project management/scheduling software programs such as MS Project

  • Knowledge of principles, criteria, and procedures of the DoD to include DoD 5000.01 and DoD 5000.02 as well as the policies and processes of USAF, HQ AFMC, and the AFNWC

  • Skilled in the following software applications:

  • Analytical or scientific software

  • IBM Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) Statistics, Minitab, SAS, The MathWorks MATLAB
  • Enterprise resource planning ERP software
  • NetSuite ERP, Oracle Hyperion, Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One, Oracle PeopleSoft
  • Object or component-oriented development software - practical extraction and reporting language Perl, R, Scala, Swift

  • Operating system software

  • Bash, Oracle Solaris, Shell script, UNIX Shell

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with a HSA and HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military and jury duty paid leaves. Regular part time employees scheduled for twenty-four or more hours per work week are eligible for benefits on a pro-rated basis.

  • This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.

  • The base pay for this position is $147,000 to $244,000 across the U.S. There is also a different range applicable for specific work locations. Base pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, training and education.
