JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our dynamic team of professionals in an Aerospace tooling & gage manufacturing facility in New Britain CT. The Estimator will lead in evaluating customer requests for products, and develop timely and accurate quotes based on the individual requests. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in Tooling & Gage design, fabrication, estimation, or manufacturing specifically within the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Work directly with clients by providing all quotes, handling all customer service matters related to production, and ensuring on-time delivery.
Interpret blueprints, CAD printouts, proposals and other technical documents to estimate customer requires for Aerospace tooling & gages
Create timely an accurate lead times and cost estimates in response to customer quote requests
Understand all aspects of tooling & gage production such as time, materials, equipment, tool designing, manufacturing, delivery, and administrative expensive to create accurate quotes for the customer
Source and select suppliers for materials and outsource processes and develop estimates for special processes, testing and tooling needed.
Consult with key stake holders in the process, such as customers, vendors, and team members, in order to create strategies and resolve
Outline order of operations for the purpose of planning, organizing, and scheduling work through the shop.
Evaluate the production planning and schedule of the facility, ensuring deadlines will be met and recommending continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum of 5 years experience working with Aerospace Tooling, Gages, and machinery
Reading and interpretation of blueprints and GD&T symbols
Familiarity with methods used in manufacturing
Hands on experience with Aerospace specifications
At least 1 year of estimation or handling purchase orders with customers
Must be able to formulate an estimate from blueprint drawings
Estimate fabrications in a bill of material and calculating labor hours needed to fabricate parts.
Must be willing to work overtime when needed
