Moog produces mechanisms for spacecraft motion control with design and flight heritage expanding over decades. With origins from historic programs such as Apollo and Pioneer to present-day satellite programs, Moog brings heritage-based solutions to spacecraft mechanisms technology. The spacecraft mechanisms facility in Chatsworth, California includes a fully integrated engineering/design, manufacturing, and test capability. Moog spacecraft products are flexible to meet customer requirements for a wide breadth of applications ranging from commercial to government flight programs.

Our team in Space and Defense Group is looking for a Senior Design Drafter to join them. You will report to the Product Assurance Lead and will have an onsite work schedule in Chatsworth, CA.

To be considered for the Senior Design Drafter, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Two-year Engineering degree, Mechanical Drafting or Mechanical Engineering is preferred

  • 10 years or more related design experience

  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

  • Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management for solid modeling and drafting is strongly preferred.

  • Proficient with computer programs (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

As a Senior Design Drafter, you will:

  • Perform conceptual design development tasks utilizing engineering design principles and experience to define and document the product design process.

  • Engineering applications used are Siemens NX and Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management for solid modeling and drafting; Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing fluency is essential. Technical know‑how that is commensurate with experience in the design of high performance, high density packages.

  • Work independently or with an Engineer and generate dimensional and functional specifications for vendor supplied components.

  • Direct other drafting personnel in the completion of assignments.

  • Present design results for review and substantiates soundness of design through discussion of assumptions, constraints and analyses used.

  • Work with Development, Product and Manufacturing Methods Engineers as well as outside vendors during the product design phase.

Salary Range:

Pay range for this opportunity is $43-$48 per hour

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
