Job Summary

Employees in this role will employ a range of methods to polish parts, utilizing Wheel lathes, Dynafiles, and hand tools to meet customer-driven visual specifications, typically aiming to achieve a grain finish appearance. This involves physically engaging with the equipment and tools to ensure precise and satisfactory outcomes that align with customer expectations. All employees in this position will perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications.

Responsibilities

• Work with Experienced Polish Operator Lead and other Polish Operators to help prepare and process aircraft and/or military aircraft or space parts using a variety of polishing techniques.

• Use a variety of methods to polish parts including the use of Dynafiles (*1A Note),Wheel Lathes (*2A note),and hand tools to achieve customer driven visual requirements, most often to achieve a grain finish appearance.

• Follow shop traveler, technique card, customer purchase orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Department Leads.

• Prepare Aircraft/or Military parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning.

• Prepare Aircraft/or Military parts as called out in purchase orders and tech cards.

• Perform quality inspection, measuring, and testing part surfaces as required.

• Perform pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.

• Follow Quality Assurance requirements.

• Follow safety precautions as trained when working with machinery such as a Dynafile and/or Wheel Lathe.

• Other duties as assigned.
