Work onsite at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD (Pax River) to operate, install, calibrate, and maintain integrated computer/communications systems, consoles, simulators, and other data acquisition, test, and measurement instruments and equipment, which are used to launch, track, position, and evaluate air and space vehicles. May record and interpret test data.



  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical Discipline or a BS degree in an Engineering


  • Active Secret Clearance


  • 3-10 years experience in Aerospace Engineering

  • At least one year of recent experience must be related to one or more of the following sensor functional areas: EO/IR, HSI/MSI, LIDAR, LADAR, RADAR, SIGINT, CBRNE, and SONAR.

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.

VIEW JOBS 10/16/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-01-14T00:00 Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Engineering Technician I Duties, Experience, Skills, Requirements, and Information: Ability to work well as a team and as an individual with minimal supervision. * Perform Operations, maintenance, and repair of GPS-based tracking instrumentation sets and associated cooperative tracking systems * Perform mechanical/electrical and technical installation of tracking instrumentation sets on a variety of host vehicles * Provide pre/post operational range support of instrumentation at various tenant activities aboard NAS Patuxent River and at other DoD test sites * Assist in the development, design, modification, test and evaluation of GPS receivers, associated cooperative tracking systems, data acquisition & processing systems and equipment * Applicant must be a self-starter and be able to use initiative to undertake activities with minimal supervision * Position may require frequent overtime and occasional travel * Must be flexible and team oriented * A minimum of two years' experience in performing the stated or similar functions is required. * Basic Electricity/Electronics Theory, practice and repair/service experience preferred * Experience with RF communications, GPS receivers and airborne instrumentation preferred * Mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills beneficial * Ability to prepare or apply engineering, technical, or maintenance specifications, policies, standards and procedures desired * Must possess a valid driver's license * All candidates will be required to pass Drug Screenings Note: This job description describes the general nature of the duties and requirements of the job.
