Job Description Job Description NOTE: WindWright positions are contingent on contract award expected February 2025 WindWright, a subsidiary of Stratolaunch, accelerates hypersonic development by improving the capacity and capabilities of ground test facilities using digital engineering environments.

Our advanced modeling and simulation, synthesized with ground and flight test data, are integrated into authoritative digital models that advance ground test productivity, accuracy, and repeatability improvements across the full customer development campaign. WindWright's digital engineering framework also enables efficient test planning, rapid test data review, and deeper analysis of the test results, leading to reduced customer costs and risks. WindWright is developing a digital engineering environment to support various hypersonic ground and flight test efforts with Department of Defense and commercial applications.

WindWright seeks an Aerodynamics & Software Engineer II to support aerothermal and aero-propulsion digital twin development for hypersonic wind tunnel components. Candidates must have a strong background in numerical modeling of aerospace vehicles, propulsion systems, or aerodynamic ground test facilities. Experience with aerospace vehicle development, propulsion development, wind tunnel testing, or wind tunnel facility design in the hypersonic regime is highly desired.

In this role, you will support digital twin software development, training, validation, and use for various hypersonic vehicles and ground test facilities, with the objective of improving ground test capabilities and advancing ground-to-flight similitude. Your tasking may include digital engineering software development, wind tunnel testing, CFD simulation, virtual reality interface development, digital twin training and validation, and trade studies. This position will include evaluation of a broad range of technical data.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Train and validate digital twins for hypersonic vehicles and ground test facilities Identify and standardize legacy analysis and test data, and apply it to facility digital twins Predict facility characteristics and limitations using digital twins Analyze wind tunnel and flight test data, as required Support trade studies using digital twins Predict facility and vehicle characteristics using CFD and other physics-based models Provide technical review of physics-based modeling, including CFD Define architecture and set functional and interface requirements for new software, as requested Review and test software contributions from the team Document training approach and validation results for each digital twin Document inputs, assumptions, and limitations Support the preparation of business proposals to the US Government and industry Travel, as needed, to support the company Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Required Qualifications: Knowledge of, and experience with aerodynamics, CFD, and wind tunnel testing Experience with subsonic, transonic, and hypersonic theory and analysis Experience with hypersonic vehicles, engines, and/or ground test facilities Ability to work on their own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goals Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities Ability to obtain a security clearance at the TS/SCI level Preferred Qualifications: Experience with hypersonic aerothermal and/or propulsion design Knowledge of, or experience with hypersonic vehicles, engines, or ground test facilities Experience with hypersonic ground test facility design or modification Experience applying machine learning techniques in an aerospace context Active TS/SCI security clearance Required Computer Skills:

Proficiency with CFD analysis tools Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software tools Scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, or similar) MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Preferred Computer Skills:

Proficiency with US3D, Kestrel, Link3D, Pointwise, and TecPlot360/Chorus Experience with HPC cluster administration Experience with software version control tools (i.e. Git/SVN) Education/experience/certifications Bachelor's degree (BS) in engineering, physics, or mathematics from an accredited institution and 4-plus years of relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience LI-Onsite Benefits and our location:
