The Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program is the Minuteman III replacement system led by the United States Air Force. Our team is supporting the USAF's nuclear deterrence mission to replace the entire weapon system and refurbish the existing ground systems infrastructure. The program is currently under a three-year Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) contract that will mature our design through PDR.
GBSD is part of the Strategic Deterrence Systems division that is composed of the life cycle programs supporting the Minuteman system. Our division includes the Boeing Guidance Repair Center that manages the sustainment and refurbishment of the guidance system, the Minuteman Programs comprised of contracts for incremental upgrades and sustainment, and GBSD the Minuteman III replacement system. The successful candidate in this position will perform aerodynamic design and analysis to ensure that the vehicle meets requirements.
Develop new and improve existing technologies, tools and processes to enhance technology readiness, improve vehicle performance and reduce cycle time and cost.
Plan, conduct and coordinate compliance to internal and external specifications, requirements and guarantees of the aerodynamic and operational characteristics of the vehicle. Design, develop and deliver flight operations data to meet customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Complete knowledge of aerodynamic design principles, tools, and processes for air vehicles, including industry standards and practices; ability to independently perform aerodynamic design tasks within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Expert knowledge of aerodynamic analysis principles, processes, methods, and tools for flight vehicles.
Thorough experience with Aerodynamic database development using various data sources (wind tunnel test, flight test, computational fluid dynamics, empirical data, etc.); complete knowledge of how to develop the database using input from these multiple sources, as well as understanding errors introduced from each source and how to mitigate these errors.
Experienced in the execution of the Aerodynamic engineering aspects of a project or program in the areas of flight performance, stability and control and/or weapon separation to a technology readiness level to create and validate new designs and analysis processes.
Knowledge of flight vehicle handling qualities, control law development, and performance characteristics (e.g., aerodynamics, flight dynamics, physics, weight and balance, and system analyses).
Knowledge of certification and/or qualification process and procedures, including general knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements.
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience.
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
