Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring Aerodynamic Stability & Control Engineers (Associate, Mid-Level and Senior) in the St.

Louis, MO region! This role will support new product design, development and integration projects in the areas of Fixed Wing Aircraft and/or Missile Systems.

Your expertise in areas such as Aerodynamics; Propulsion; Guidance, Navigation & Control; and Loads & Dynamics will drive the future of aerospace.

Would you be interested in working on an aircraft carrier to support the unmanned aerial-refueling MQ-25 vehicle? Or flight testing of prototype and production manned and unmanned vehicles?

How about creating and running state-of-the-art vehicle simulations of the T-7 Redhawk and supporting flight and ground tests to verify predicted vehicle performance? Or working on teams developing the next generation of tactical aircraft? The Flight Systems Engineering Capability is an exciting organization in Boeing Defense, Space & Security responsible for performing Flight Engineering across a large portfolio of products and development programs. Product areas within the Flight Systems Capability in the St.

Louis/St. Charles region include Fighter Aircraft, Unmanned Aircraft, and Missiles/Weapons Systems. The set of specialized capabilities and skills maintained by our teammates are the foundation of what defines the majority of our Boeing products; things that FLY!

Selected candidates will work a wide range of programs that will require design, analysis and testing in Flight disciplines to meet our customers' requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and analysis of aerodynamic flight vehicles to ensure that requirements are met.

  • Support the development of new and improving existing technologies, tools and processes to enhance technology readiness, improve vehicle performance and reduce cycle time and cost.

  • Assist with development of test requirements (e.g., wind tunnel, ground, flight, accident and incident and product support testing of aerodynamics) of flight vehicles.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S.

Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 1+ year of experience in Aerodynamics Engineering (or Master's degree)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Experience in the execution of the Aerodynamic engineering aspects of a project or program in the areas of flight performance, stability and control and/or weapon separation to a technology readiness level to create and validate new designs and analysis processes.

  • Experience of flight vehicle handling qualities, control law development, and performance characteristics (e.g., aerodynamics, flight dynamics, physics, weight and balance, and system analyses).

  • Experience with aerodynamic design principles, processes, methods, and tools for air vehicles, including industry and company standards and practices.

  • Experience with certification and/or qualification processes and procedures, including general knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements.

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2):

Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4):

Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

Associate: 76,500 - 103,500

Mid-Level: 93,500 - 126,500

Senior: 113,900 - 154,100
