VIATEQ Corporation is hiring an Aerial Telecommunications Lineman to upgrade telecom cables at various project sites throughout the East Coast. This role will include PAID travel.
Responsibilities
  • Repair damaged and or cut telecom cables
  • Repair and install aerial telecom cables
  • Lash and apply tension to cables
  • Place fiber optic and coaxial cables
  • Operate bucket lift equipment
  • Read and understand aerial and underground drawings
  • Follow local and state construction codes
  • Install and remove various anchor systems
Qualifications
  • Ability to work in all kinds of weather conditions when completing assignments
  • Ability and willingness to withstand physical demands including lifting, twisting, hand-eye coordination, and standing for long periods of time
  • Valid Drivers License, CDL preferred
  • Ability to follow crew foreman directions
  • Willingness to travel throughout the East Coast for weekly periods of time completing lineman assignments

VIEW JOBS 12/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-09T00:00 The Telecommunications Analyst is the front line support for the Office of Telecommunications, handling service order requests, customer inquiries and fulfillment. All requests for Voice, Data, CATV and telecommunications equipment and services filters through this office. The Analyst acts as a customer service representative and consultant, determining departmental telecommunications needs and meeting with departments on the implementation of specialized telephony services such as Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) and Interactive Voice Response (IVR). Daily interaction with field engineers, data techs, network engineers and departments on all campuses is required. The Analyst will meet with architects and project managers on all new construction and large renovation projects to review Telecom requirements, including Voice, Data and CATV cabling and services. This will include attending weekly job meetings and reviewing schedules to assure that critical dates are met for the installation of telecommunications services. Will travel to all campuses for meetings and site surveys as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: Associate's degree and at least one (1) year related Telecommunications experience. Experience working with Pinnacle Tele-management, or similar applications. Experience with Broadsoft Unified Communications platform. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Ability to multi-task and work on many projects at the same time and have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. * Demonstrated customer service skills along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to perform site surveys with customers to gather and document information to be used for work order creation in support of VoIP migration, department moves, renovation and new construction projects. * Ability to use a computer to input, analyze and report on data collected during customer site surveys using Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat. * Valid Driver's License to operate a motor vehicle. * Ability to travel to all campuses for meetings and site surveys, as required.
