Position Summary

VALUATION SERVICES

Crowe's Valuation Services ("VS") group assists clients in connection with business combinations, mergers and acquisitions, transaction structuring, tax planning, financial reporting, structured financing, litigation support, complex security testing, bankruptcy, solvency, outsourced corporate development services and asset value maximization. Our team approach to valuations combines the knowledge of our industry-focused professionals with the financial expertise of our valuation team members. Crowe provides a comprehensive set of services to meet the needs of public to large privately held companies in a wide array of industries, as well as wealthy individuals and family offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with preparation of client proposals, data requests, and engagement letters

  • Perform industry research, marketing activities, article research, data aggregation/analysis

  • Assist with performing market based valuation methodologies guideline public company and guideline private transaction searches

  • Assist with modeling and income based methodologies discounted cash flow analyses, calculating discount rates (i.e. weighted average cost of capital), etc.

  • Work with the senior management team members on client valuation issues in financial reporting, tax, and consultative settings

  • Interact with all levels of VS practice personnel, client personnel and management

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should meet the following qualifications:

  • Outstanding academic performance in one of following preferred majors or similar background:

  • Finance

  • Accounting

  • Economics

  • Mathematics

  • Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.0)

  • Completion of introductory courses in finance, accounting and/or economics, valuation coursework a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrate leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with professionals of all levels

  • Transportation may be required to travel to client sites

  • Strong work ethic, self-starting motivation, and availability to work long-hours as client demands dictate

Qualifications * Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field required. * Two to three years' experience in a consulting firm, CPA firm, investment bank or related environment providing in valuation services and/or corporate finance advisory services. * Exposure to performing business assessment and analysis, background knowledge of intangible asset appraisal, preparation of valuation reports/schedules, understanding of financial reporting valuations, as well as valuations for tax and management planning. * Manage valuation projects using market, income and cost approaches. * Some experience with information technology. * ASA, CFA or CPA desired but not required. * Experience in management of projects in field and local office. * Solid understanding of valuation methodologies. * Experience with business development preferred but not required. * Must be self-motivated. * Must have the capability and willingness to perform other Financial Advisory Services staff level roles, as necessary. * Strong oral and written communication skills.
