Marsh & McLennan Companies has an opportunity to join the organization as an Advisory Representative supporting the Aviation group in New York. This role supports a group of brokers managing simple and complex aviation accounts. The brokers handle both Placement and Client Advisory clients; some insurer or client contact may be required. Aviation has dynamic and interesting exposures, placements, and risk management philosophies. The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a team environment with constant interaction with colleagues. This is not a "project based" type position, but rather a constant workflow environment.

Essential Duties

  • Performs basic clerical functions, including but not limited to, photocopying, faxing, scanning, word processing and filing to assist Advisory colleagues.

  • Assists in the creation of presentations and program submission, including coverage specifications, in collaboration with Advisory colleagues.

  • Assists with monitoring the renewal and binder control system to ensure things are progressing according to schedule.

  • Maintains ongoing relationship with team colleagues to effectively service clients and assist the Advisory colleague.

  • Understands and complies with compliance and transparency standards.


  • High School Diploma/GED required

  • 3 5 years' experience in the insurance industry. P & C or aviation insurance experience preferred

  • MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Strong preference for colleague proficiency in MARSH systems such as MART, RMB, Mdocs; or equivalent broker systems and surplus lines calculations and filings

  • Must be organized and able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have keen attention to detail with a focus on accuracy

Credential must be obtained prior to being promoted to Manager. Preferred Qualifications: Certification(s) Preferred: CPA license. International hires or hires from a PwC affiliate firm to have obtained the equivalent accounting credential in selected individual's home country. Preferred Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas: * Participating as an individual contributor and a team member with senior CMAAS practitioners and other professionals (e.g., bankers, lawyers, auditors, advisors) on complex accounting and financial reporting matters related to deals and other transformational events on a daily basis in areas of focus listed above; and, * Advising multi-national, publicly-traded companies and private equity firms on a broad range of technical accounting, financial reporting, and capital markets topics, including IPOs, debt offerings, private placements, carve-outs and/or spin-offs, acquisitions, alliances/joint ventures, post deal accounting, restructurings, restatements, bankruptcies; and, GAAP conversions, change in accounting standards, accounting complexity.
