What Financial Planning & Analysis contributes to Cardinal Health

Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for being objective and strategic financial partners, leading collaborative cross-functional effort to drive relevant, flexible and efficient financial planning and analysis that supports our key business decisions.

  • Analyzes business trends

  • leads and aligns financial forecasts and long range planning processes with our business leaders. Drives business value by providing financial and analytical counsel to facilitate decision-marking around strategic business initiatives.

  • Prepares monthly financial reporting including variance and financial statement analysis. Able to clearly communicate a cohesive and concise story around business drivers behind financial data and potential implications on future results.

  • Creates financial models and scenarios as a key input for business planning decisions in areas such as capital deployment, sourcing, product development, marketing strategies, and acquisitions.

  • Manages annual budget processes, incorporating business initiatives, economic trends and operational effectiveness. Aligns budget to business strategies and gains alignment from business partners.

  • Performs customer and product profitability analysis and makes investment and pricing decisions. Identifies opportunities to drive revenue growth, margin expansion and a more favorable mix (i.e., driving preferred products and services).

  • Understands market dynamics and competitors. Conducts complex analysis, synthesizes and summarizes implications to business, influencing business partners using analytics and business understanding.

  • Identifies and executes upon process improvement opportunities. Demonstrates proficiency of technical tools and financial systems.

  • Serves as an objective financial steward with an enterprise perspective, safeguarding our company's assets. Ensures strong controls are in place and the company's intellectual property is protected.

Accountabilities

  • Derive insights and support management decision making based on financial results, including ability to summarize and present complex data at various levels of detail

  • Establish use of Alteryx for Data and Analytics views

  • Maintain Dashboards and Analytics using Power BI until conversion to Alteryx

  • Oversee and validate integrity of data used for GP reporting and analytics

  • Provide data and support for Ad Hoc and deal modeling requests

  • Assist with SAP conversion initiatives while advocating for current data standards & abilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business related field, or equivalent work experience

  • 4+ years experience in related FP&A field

  • Hands on analytical tool experience with Microsoft Power Suite, Alteryx, Tableau, or similar software

  • Experience gathering and documenting data requirements to support analytical solutions

  • SQL Query writing experience preferred

  • Strong Communication Skills

  • Ability to design and build effective executive-level presentations

  • Ability to work with variety of stakeholders, particularly executives

This individual will be the lead support for one of the growing divisions, and will be assisting the FP&A team with: the annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, and in the creation and maintenance of complex financial models. (S)he will provide strategic support to senior management including preparing financial presentations, forecasts, and other projects requested by senior management. This position provides analysis and insights to senior management to optimize business decision making. Qualifications Education: * Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with courses in MIS. MBA Preferred. Experience: * Two (2) to three (3) years prior financial analysis experience in multi-site environment or Business Analytics with solid skills in Business Intelligence Tools. • Experience in financial modeling and budgeting for multi-site organizations with businesses in many geographies.• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a must (e.g., Pivot Tables, knowledge of Excel functions, VBA). Power Point, Access and ERP experience (e.g., Great Plains) skills are desirable. • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized. • Ability to be detailed but adept in thinking strategically to influence business decisions. • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven, and self-motivated. • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a very fast pace and high growth environment. Licenses/Certifications: * CPA a Plus Responsibilities 1. Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators, including all areas of: revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures. 2. Manage the continued development of budgeting, financial forecasting, and modeling tools. 3. Utilize Business Intelligence Tool to create dashboards and operations reports. 4. Develop financial models and analyses to support and track strategic initiatives. 5. Supporting senior management team and operations leadership with in-depth analysis. 6. Prepare presentations and ad-hoc reporting and analysis at management's request. 7. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations, and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations. 8. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations. 9. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details. 10.
