The Junior Account Executive will be an important contact for several entertainment clients in the independent film, television and streaming media space. The position is a combination of client service, production management, media planning and campaign delivery and reporting. You will roll up your sleeves and work on a team that delivers advertising and marketing campaigns in a fast-paced, hands-on, deadline-heavy context.

It would be a big plus to come from an entertainment background and have experience working in an agency environment but equivalent client-side experience would also be useful.

  • Act as member of the team for often demanding clients on a variety of fast-moving movie media and creative projects
  • Oversee projects from concept to delivery with knowledge of print, digital and broadcast production
  • Plan, propose, manage, deploy and execute advertising and marketing campaigns across digital, social, broadcast/advanced TV, outdoor, radio and newspaper
  • Prepare and execute media schedules with deep knowledge of local and national market media and the latest tools and techniques
  • Manage the delivery of creative assets working with the in-house creative team of designers and production artists with extreme attention to often meticulous detail
  • Provide a strong interface between the account team, planning, management, operations and billing to streamline processes and drive business and workflows forward
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and build and grow accounts

Requirements

Four year degree

A demonstrated passion for and knowledge of independent film and television with a future-looking attitude will be a major advantage and there is room for growth for the right candidate.

This is a roll-up-your-sleeves opportunity to be a key driver of discovering, prospecting, pitching and closing new business by developing a deep understanding of the unique needs of entertainment clients within the modern media space. You will be comfortable with storytelling, strategizing and answering business needs while cultivating strong knowledge of agency operations and infrastructure with an eye towards superb client service, innovation, teamwork and collaboration.</p> <p>Reporting directly to the President, the executive will support the full sales pipeline and play a key role in agency marketing initiatives, including taking responsibility for improvements to the company website, sales materials, outbound marketing and social media, while keeping current with industry news, emerging companies, media trends, technologies and competitors to support ongoing growth and innovation.</p> <p>Networking is key to this role, so existing relationships in the entertainment marketing community will be a big plus, as will experience attending film festivals, industry conferences, networking events and premieres resulting in demonstrable business wins over both short and long sales cycles. Consultative pitching of marketing and advertising services will form an important part of this role as well understanding the entertainment marketing ecosystem including the role of advertising/social/creative/media agencies, studio/indie marketing executives and search consultants.</p> <p>Responsible for and accountable to the new business pipeline you will:</p> <ul> <li>Discover, build and maintain meticulous records of leads and prospects</li> <li>Support the pitch process working closely with key internal stakeholders</li> <li>Maintain and up-to-the-minute awareness of trends in film, streaming, television, advertising, media, emerging technology and entertainment news</li> <li>Oversee the creation of proposals and materials by advocating for client requests</li> <li>Understand and grow agency relationships with target marketing departments</li> <li>Develop strong exposure with search consultants to participate in and win pitches</li> <li>Identify and align agency services to potential clients in related industries (OTT/streaming, television, music, gaming, digital platforms, etc.)</li> <li>Issue regular reports including forecast revenues and new opportunities</li> <li>Drive innovation through understanding client needs and work with management to devise new ways of working and pitching to align with the emerging entertainment and video marketplace</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Four-year degree preferably in communications, film/media studies, marketing or advertising</li> <li>At least two years of experience in marketing, sales, or business development, ideally including advertising/media agency experience</li> <li>Knowledgeable, heavy consumer of entertainment, with a demonstrated passion for independent film, television and streaming </li> <li>Comfort with discussing directors, writers, producers, actors, publicists, studios, indies and industry news with savvy potential clients. Strong recall in high-stakes personal interactions.</li> <li>Adaptable in a fast-moving environment where change is the only constant</li> <li>Comfortable with doing everything from cold calling to in-person networking to emailing and follow up. A leader but also a hands-on doer and innate networker and people person</li> <li>Impeccable written and in-person communication and presentation skills - email, phone, in person, on social platforms including LinkedIn - through proactive, dynamic, inspiring yet always humble and considerate internal and external interactions. </li> <li>Willingness to travel and work outside of normal business hours as required to win business and build the agency profile</li> <li>Experience with Mac platform including PowerPoint, Keynote and ideally Adobe Creative Suite, in addition to SAAS products including HubSpot, MailChimp and Slack</li> <li>Strong sense of professionalism, collaboration and respect.
