Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Janteq is a growing and innovative division within General Dynamics Mission Systems. We are looking for an Advanced Test Engineering to support our manufacturing and test area.

  • Participates in the planning of technical approaches, resources, schedule, budget and equipment required for testing and evaluating systems, products and special devices

  • Executes the test approach and document system verification throughout the engineering and manufacturing development lifecycle, directly interface with Design Engineering, representing manufacturing (DFM activities)

  • Performs advanced troubleshooting of discrepant units and systems, isolates and documents issues and defects

  • Prepares test and diagnostic programs, writes Python Test Scripts, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures

  • Develops and conducts functional, environmental, operational, and/or performance tests on hardware, software, and systems

  • Assists with the design, development and implementation of cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting of hardware, software and systems for all phases of product development and manufacturing

  • Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle

  • Researches and analyzes data, such as customer design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application

  • May provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employees

  • Exercises latitude in technical objectives of assignments

  • Leads technical tasks for small teams or projects

  • May provide engineering support to proposals

  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and projects

  • Frequent contact with managers within and outside of Engineering

  • Frequent contact with external customers and vendors

  • Recognized internally and/or externally as a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple technical areas

  • Travel may be required


  • Fully proficient use and understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories

  • Contributes to the development of new theories and methods

  • Fully proficient awareness of business objective and Engineering's role in achieving them

  • Fully proficient knowledge and experience with object oriented programming, system processes and scripting languages

  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Fully proficient written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to think creatively

  • Good at multi-tasking

  • Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions

  • Fully proficient ability to clearly report information relevant to sound test engineering

  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments

  • Fully proficient ability to promote concepts and ideas to a diverse audience


  • Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred

  • Experience with RF testing is a must

  • Experience writing Python test scripts to automate testing is strongly preferred

As a Firmware Test Automation Engineer in the Solid State Drives (SSD) group at Micron Technology, you will develop and maintain the test automation infrastructure used to validate and verify firmware for Solid State Drives using NAND Flash memory products. This assignment involves building automated testing environments that run tests, record test results, and automatically generate test reports. The testing will be used to verify functionality, endurance, and performance requirements of Solid State Drives for the enterprise market. You can expect to work closely with firmware test engineers and firmware developers to build a seamless testing environment to constantly monitor the state of Firmware development. In this role, you will develop test environments and test automation scripts to validate firmware running in simulation or on prototype products. Your focus will be on crafting a fully automated test environment that can run firmware regression tests on demand, on code promotion, nightly, and weekly. The test platforms will include Linux PCs running internally developed test scripts and industry standard NVMe testers. Test automation scripts will be written using Linux shell scripts, Python, and tester proprietary languages. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: * Configuring Test Automation software * Crafting and scripting test sequences * Building scripts to record test results and archive test artifacts * Automating testing result reporting, generating reports on a daily and weekly basis Minimum Qualifications: * BS or MS in Computer science with 4-8 years of relevant experience. * Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins * Experience setting up a test automation infrastructure. * Experience setting up and maintaining a test results database. * Knowledge of storage products and storage protocols. * Knowledge of test automation, testing methodologies, and test tools.
