We have an immediate opening for an Advanced Test Engineering - Manufacturing. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Janteq is a growing and innovative division within General Dynamics Mission Systems. We are looking for an Advanced Test Engineering to support our manufacturing and test area.
Participates in the planning of technical approaches, resources, schedule, budget and equipment required for testing and evaluating systems, products and special devices
Executes the test approach and document system verification throughout the engineering and manufacturing development lifecycle, directly interface with Design Engineering, representing manufacturing (DFM activities)
Performs advanced troubleshooting of discrepant units and systems, isolates and documents issues and defects
Prepares test and diagnostic programs, writes Python Test Scripts, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures
Develops and conducts functional, environmental, operational, and/or performance tests on hardware, software, and systems
Assists with the design, development and implementation of cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting of hardware, software and systems for all phases of product development and manufacturing
Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
Researches and analyzes data, such as customer design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
May provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employees
Exercises latitude in technical objectives of assignments
Leads technical tasks for small teams or projects
May provide engineering support to proposals
Guides the successful completion of major programs and projects
Frequent contact with managers within and outside of Engineering
Frequent contact with external customers and vendors
Recognized internally and/or externally as a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple technical areas
Travel may be required
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Fully proficient use and understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories
Contributes to the development of new theories and methods
Fully proficient awareness of business objective and Engineering's role in achieving them
Fully proficient knowledge and experience with object oriented programming, system processes and scripting languages
Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Fully proficient written and verbal communications skills
Ability to think creatively

Fully proficient ability to clearly report information relevant to sound test engineering

PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:
Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred
Experience with RF testing is a must
Experience writing Python test scripts to automate testing is strongly preferred
