This position assists in the creation of innovative solutions and is a liaison for faculty and staff for the incorporation of surgical simulation into the training for students, residents and healthcare professionals.

This position will provide operational support of facilities, activities, and resources for simulation, clinical skills and other entities utilizing the center. This includes providing technical and hands-on support for surgical simulation session preparation (human tissue, equipment, venue, etc.) and delivery.

Participates and supports faculty and staff research activities focused on educational and clinical outcomes. This position will also support faculty and staff presentation and publications by linking them to data captured from the simulation training sessions.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Healthcare related field (i.e. Surgical Technology, Nursing, EMS, etc.)

Experience providing instruction, training, education, direct patient care and/or experience in a simulation environment.

  • Superior organizational, planning, communication and customer service skills required

  • Multi-tasking and ability to maintain high level of customer service especially in high pressure situations.

Preferred Experience:

Instruction, Training or Education to healthcare providers or healthcare students

  • Background (2 years) in previous simulation or training environment.

  • Support role in simulation lab or comparable training facility position.

  • Experience in supporting instructional activities, preferable in health science education or higher education setting.

  • Management and programming of simulation models highly desirable.

Preferred License: Yes If yes, what is the preferred licensure/certification?:

Healthcare licensure (i.e. RN, EMS, etc). Surgical certifications (CST, CSFA, TS-A, CSA, CNOR) are highly desirable.

Preferred Computer Applications: Not Applicable Preferred Other Computer Applications: Simulation software (i.e. CAE, Gaumard, Laerdal, etc) Preferred Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of instructional design principles, learning theory, online learning strategies, and technology integration.

  • Demonstrated experience in using sound instructional design principles when interacting with faculty and staff to ensure effective skills training delivery.
