Position Description

As an Advanced Procedure Specialist in the Boston area you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Work from a focused quarterly sales plan specific to revenue growth expectations and exceed quota

  • Call on high volume surgical centers to promote our Gel technologies. Surgical approaches include Hand-Assisted Laparoscopy, Single Incision Surgery and Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS)

  • Drive the interest and the adoption of our Gel technologies through targeting leaders within the medical community

  • Work closely with Surgical Residency and Fellowship programs in conjunction with community hospitals to provide an invaluable advanced laparoscopic training environment

  • Operate as an ambassador of the Applied Medical brand in competitive environments

  • Coordinate a cohesive plan through interaction with corporate accounts and Field implementation divisions.

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • A B2B background and/or medical device sales experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work and manage cross functional teams and activities

  • Must be able to travel routinely (up to 25% of the time) and manage expenses incurred while traveling

  • Proven goal oriented, self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial drive

  • Demonstrated performance record with clear documentation of success

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to travel to Southern California for a 3-week training class

  • 4 year degree

These models offer an opportunity to better understand complex biology in a physiologically relevant context where 2D models have not proven as successful. However transitioning research to a more physiologically relevant model can be a challenging and daunting task. Our Advanced Cell Models Field Application Scientist will empower customers by leveraging their own scientific expertise to instill confidence and trust in the solutions provided by Thermo Fisher Scientific in this rapidly growing field. Candidate must be willing to travel up to 70% of time to support customers and sales specialists. Responsibilities Portfolio Support * Serve as customer-facing technical expert, demonstrating intimate knowledge of products and familiarity with priorities and challenges in the field * Provide field and remote support to our sales organization by providing customers with technical guidance (pre & post sales activities) * Deliver scientific seminars and host round table discussions * Develop and lead hands on workshops, demos, and trainings Business Enablement * Provide market sensing mechanism, identifying new opportunities and highlighting gaps in current portfolio * Interface with R&D and product management teams to serve as liaison between customers and business * Attend conferences and events to grow technical knowledge and capture developing trends * Interact with marketing teams to drive new initiatives and develop customer-facing content * Interface with the global technical training teams and share best practices across organization Experience: * Required: Bachelors degree in Biology, Cell Biology, or related discipline. * Requires a minimum of 3 years experience working with organoid, spheroid, stem cell, or primary cell models * Extensive experience with cell-based disease models * Proficiency in culturing, differentiating, and gene editing human pluripotent stem cells strongly desired * Aptitude for cell based characterization tools and functional assays Qualifications * Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. * Ability to interface effectively with all levels of an organization and customers. * Demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers as well the ability to handle confidential and proprietary information. * Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and perform as a team player. * Must excel in customer-facing role and enjoy interfacing with cross functional teams Working Conditions: Works in an office and lab environment.
